The best episode of the entire show so far
harrier-712432 March 2021
I don't think that there is much more that I could say about this episode other than it was a fantastic addition to the recent story arcs, I don't think that this scenario could have been portrayed any better.

To the production crew/actors, this is by far and a way the best episode so far, please continue along these lines. This season and in particular this episode has given the show "heart" which seemed to be missing from the first season. I would like to say well done to everyone and in particular Jennifer Connelly who looks to be in her element making the character feel real and three dimensional.

Good but could've been better.
edarous2 March 2021
Warning: Spoilers
I get that writing a script could be hard but come on guys.. Can this be a tiny bet more realistic? The tower happen to fall a few days after Melanie arrived at the station? It was up for 7 years. Doesn't make sense that some wind would make it fall. So far the tv show keeps getting better but I understand why it's not rated as high as other similar shows simply because you make one great episode and rush others. Please take your time instead of putting slow scenes that doesn't add much to the story. Keep the good work!

Isolated
stibu883 March 2021
Warning: Spoilers
The feeling of isolation was portrayed quite well. It felt good to imagine oneself in such a place, alone in solitude. However, the landslide and the falling antenna were just plain silly. They were obviously forced pieces of drama that needn't be for any other reason than to extend the episode. Better content could've been brought from other places. I would have preferred books, videos, diaries etc. of the deceased. Thoughts and words from the damned. Why did they never find the source for the rats that even they must've noticed? A story whom Melanie basically would've experienced in the same way as the viewers would.

Yet it was good. The best episode thus far.

Best episode
lisa-Anne-075852 March 2021
Warning: Spoilers
I mean i've enjoyed all the episodes equally, it was exquisite to watch the Mels story and her flashbacks on how she took control of the train. just when you thought the previous cliffhanger wasnt nerve wrecking enough oh well this one was just painful. 1>lets talk about Mel's hallucinations>>the ending wasnt a hallucination 2>i'm glad Mel left Wilford behind i would have without blinking twice 3>is it me or Ben always look aggressive the way he grabbed Mel, the way he grabbed Miles in season 1 and beaten up Javi his character makes me cringe. 4>why did'nt Mel have Ben in her mind because she was clearly hallucinating of the people she was thinking about. 5>i love Alex but i don't think she'll reunite with her mother this season i love them 6> Melanie is the heart of the show, you rip the show's heart it will die. i hope they'll trade carefully by not getting rid of Mel which i doubt considering she and Layton are the centre of the show

Queen Melanie!
DragonFireBreather3 March 2021
Warning: Spoilers
This episode was all about the Queen of Ice... Melanie!!! It was by far my favorite episode out of both seasons. It was nice to see it set somewhere else other than the train. And we get Jenifer Connlley (Melanie) 98% of the episode. She is the STAR of this show hands down. Her hallucination scenes with Wilford were superb. Those two are my favorites on the show and yes I know Wilford is the villain but c'mon this is Sean Bean we're talking about... the man can do no wrong. He's perfectly fantastic and I look forward to all his scenes. And it was nice to not see Daveed Diggs (Layton) so much, the guy can't act. His rigid scenes are sometimes uncomfortable to watch. They really miscast this character, I feel nothing for him. I'm excited to see where this goes and how Melanie will survive and I see a big showdown with her and Wilford. Viva Queen Melanie!!!

Keeps getting better.
This_Is_Darkness4 March 2021
Warning: Spoilers
Another great episode. I loved the atmosphere on this one. Jennifer Connelly being isolated for the extent of the episode made for a really claustrophobic viewing experience. Flashbacks to the original departure of Snowpiercer and 'hallucinations' of Sean Bean and Rowan Blanchard made the episode all the better. If the show keeps moving on its current trajectory l think they might really have something good here.

by far the best of the series
rdvljunk16 March 2021
While Layton gets more and more silly and annoying as character, Melanie and Wilford are stealing the show. I think jennifer Connoly did good to step back out of the series for the most part, as her excellent performance is brought down by the the rest and particually David Deegs. Also the storyline is dropping quickly

Now the addition of Sean Bean as Wilford was a good step, although his role loosk a bit like that in GoldenEye.

But the pressure in this episode of the sollitude of Melanie on the research station graps you and although how she survives is a bt silly, but ok.

The Martian on Earth

It's kind of like the Martian. A lone scientist trying to get through a dire situation waiting for his rendezvous.

Best Episode Yet
superiorroofpainting3 March 2021
So far season 2 is a lot better then the first. This episode was a much needed episode to explain how Wilford was left behind. The writing for this episode was brilliant and the end leads up to what looks to be an action packed last few episodes.

Good episode within a repetitive series
konstantin-irina18 March 2021
I have already lost interest in Snowpiercer because it'a becoming repetitive with unrests in different combinations. But this episode took me back to apocalyptic lone survivor movies where aliens, mutants or zombies are lurking behind next corner. Or just unfriendly environment, hunger and loliness.

An episode every writer wants to put in
Spin9728 March 2021
This is a generic episode every writer of every series puts in there season, an episode that brings nothing and yet something through flashbacks. The one thing i dont understand is that Melanie did not want Wilford to be on the train in charge of the remaining people because he was cruell so she left him behind. Yet in the 7 years after she hacked people their arms of turned the taillies to cannibals and killed people all in the name of 'Wilford" who did not command this. How was she any better? She could have done things better but she chose not 2. She only gave up command when everybody tried to kill her to an even less competent person. Its a fun series but if you really think about it the whole series does not make a lot off sence.

Probably the strongest episode of Snowpiercer to date, this was so entertaining and intriguing. I loved this, the backstory of the launch of snowpiercer was great.

It was the best episode and there's a reason for that
Giannis25043 March 2021
And that's why the episode is in generall only with Jeniffer Conelly and Sean Bean...That's the only character's that gives life to this series...Diggs for me cant be a first leading actor cause he dont have the acting skills to be and suddenly this show has so many characters that either they are boring or they are bad actors or both of it...For me this show had so many potential but the casting, except Jeniffer Sean and myabe Iddo Goldberg, cause he's good at what he does,is mediocre to bad and thats the reason that show will be just a good one

Heroic endurance piece
Hillius7 July 2021
Warning: Spoilers
Though this reviewer had his reservations about season two, Snowpiercer once again delivers some one of the best performances of the show so far.

Melanie's off to the high altitude research station to link up with the weather balloons from the train in order to come up with a climate model. After finding the grim remains of the previous tenants she is able to get power. As her supplies got buried in an avalanche she must ration on what she was able to bring with her. The thin mountain air and lack of food take their toll.

Jennifer Connelly give a very fine performance of someone operating in thin air on starvation rations. Breathless and fatigued she completes her duty at the station. She also suffers a series of very well staged hallucinations with various characters from the train.

We learn of Wilford and Melanie's time before departure where they were arguing over train details and Wilford just being his repugnant self. It is rare to see Sean Bean as an evil character, but here the actor plays it so well it is a credit to his adaptability. There is the event of departure in which we see Wilford massacre innocent scientists and civilians to protect his pampered vision, and why Mel and Ben decided to leave him behind.

Melanie's other hallucinations involve Layton and her daughter Alexandra which help her figure out ways to survive in the station. She finds a new food supply and extra heat, while having to make emergency repairs. Later as she detects the train nearby, she runs to link up with the train as it just rumbles past without slowing with Alex staring out the window. Has Melanie been left behind to die?

One of the best episodes in the show so far, and excellent performances throughout. 10/10.

Edvis-19974 March 2021
Not my favourite episode. It has lack of action and some scenes looks extended to the maximum to consume as much time as possible. I can come to conclusion that this season has lack of content and those episodes like this is just to fill the time, nothing more. You can put this whole episode in like 5 minutes time, so I think this episode wasn't necessary.

[7.5] Hopes waning
cjonesas16 April 2022
Warning: Spoilers
Episode 6: A good blend of an episode with nice scientific and hallucinating flow, ice-cold enthralling atmosphere delightfully divided between Melanie & Melanie, some generic good acting, few nonsense as the very standard of the show, some fillers for good measure and a possible grim fate for her in those harsh cold conditions.
