As a new brunswicker, this case was ALL OVER the news for years on end.
But I learned so many new things from this show that were never ever mentioned in any of the media coverage during the trials. Very well done series!

Biased documentary

I knew nothing about this case and it was just a BIG waste of my time. This documentary feels like free publicity for Dennis Oland; and it could have been completed in 1 episode. It is a highly biased documentary (if we can call this a documentary) as there is no serious presentation of facts, witnesses, or police work, except for what the defense wants to prove.

Intriguing and compelling

I thought this series was a fascinating and compelling look into the murder of a well known businessman in Canada. It doesn't resort to sensationalizing and exploiting the material and participants like some American true-crime series (I'm looking at you, Dateline). In its understated and elegant way, it slowly reveals the facts of the case. The animations were excellent as was the cinematography. Highly recommend this slow-burning, stylish series.
There's a Certain Problem with this Doc

Compare this documentary to anything made in America.
What this tells me is that Canadians are really boring and unemotional. The episodes drag on and on and there are only four of them! Shouldn't someone be sad or dramatic or at least show a tiny bit of emotion. It's all droning robotic talking. Christ, guys, get some adrenaline in you.
This could have been way better.
