Best scifi world building series

RIP fisherman 5000 guy.

One of the more fascinating things about the show is seeing each location and how credible they are and oh boy, this show delivers it

Another absolutely brilliant episode
namob-4367319 December 2020
This show will go down in history as one of the very best. I would currently rank the Expanse as top 10 of TV of all time, and the start of this season only enhance that score and feeling.

This episode give us all of the very best this show has to offer. Fantastic acting, beautiful scenes, brilliant directing, amazing storytelling and that creepy uneasy feeling that something is not right. Having read the books I know what is coming and where this is going, but I am still holding my breath and suck it all in like an addict.

The show-runners and the actors do make the best use of the books, following the story very closely, using the best, re-writing a few things to better fit the visual medium to make the show the best entertainment you can imagine. If you read this and you have not yet seen this show, go do it. This is the best show currently running and I have a very hard time coming up with TV shows even close this level of greatness. Beyond fantastic!

10/10 - which is almost the standard score for each episode of this show.

Great! But ...
mgphyomin19 December 2020
Warning: Spoilers
This Season 5 Episode 3 is genuinely good. But, for me as Wes Chatham (Amos Burton) fan, I feel sad and feel like something is necessary to be completed. Because this is the Very First Episode that Amos Burton is NOT in.

Naomi & Filip and Others
Hitchcoc17 December 2020
SWe're focusing in on the foibles of some of the characters. They find themselves in dire straits because of their obsessiveness and base stupidity. Naomi is off looking for her son who hates her with all his heart. This whole episode is about recklessness. Many of the characters are waiting for purpose. Let's see where this takes us.

Still going strong!
AndersSTHLM20 December 2020
Warning: Spoilers
It's a bit other then the book but it has to be for making it more exacting and correct for tv. In the book it started with the astroid hitting earth. But otherwise it's still one of the best series ever. Star Wars series is the only one that comes close to this one. Both series is Legendary and there is only 3 series that reached to that level i the last 20 years and that was GOT not that it has anything to do with sci-fi. But I'm so happy that they managed to continue on Prime. Now I see that they already ok for a nother season. But please release the whole season at once next time!

the greedy bald man
ionut-calacian20 December 2020
Warning: Spoilers
Production value does not make a show good.

So, after about 145 minutes of season 5, the asteroid finally hits. Meanwhile, nothing really happened except bla bla and more bla bla bla.

I was really happy that someone jumped in and saved the show but back then, I also really feared what has actually come true with season 4: that greed will milk the hell out of this once awesome show.

The show is still very enjoyable but not even close as good as the first 3 seasons were.

I believe that in the hands of netflix we would have seen a much better season 4 and season 5.

Well, at least is stays the second best sci-fi show at the moment. We all know which is the best, I have spoken !

This show is turning into a soup opera

I hate it when shows do this. The first 4 seasons where such perfect sci-fi. Now it's all emotional drama and very little sci-fi. Can't we do all this drama while exploring the ring worlds or something?

Kamal is a Moron
bbigddiddle16 December 2020
Warning: Spoilers
When Kamal is taken in by the "reporter" / Agent ? - what an Imbecile. He is So freakin' needy (or something) he just spills it all - without hardly ANY prompting. It is just disgusting to see this Hack tear him down with ONE smile.

slow & woke
RetroRick9 January 2022
Warning: Spoilers
Yeah, great world-building, but pretty slow & increasingly woke

Weak man, Alex, scorned by his wife, rejected by his children, seduced & used by a random woman, betrays all his secrets the moment he's injected with some drug, then rescued by a woman, Bobbie, super-marine

No-nonsense, masterful female captain (Cara Gee's Drummer obviously), leads her forces with an iron hand, institutes unthreatening free love on her ship (whoa, wouldn't you want to be a deckhand on that ship right?), sleeps with her female underling (power differentials don't matter in space / between women apparently), grieves for her dead male rival turned greatest friend Ashford, who sacrificed himself for her, through the medium of les bian love, all while discovering the secret Ashford left from the grave.

This a week after Amos is beating everyone up for no reason in irrational displays of toxic masculinity.

Occasionally great show, let down by the usual ceaseless gender subversion.

MOTHER KNOWS BEST, TYPICALLY
douglasjordane15 January 2021
THIS EPISODE WAS WEIRD IN A SLOWLY DEVELOPING WAY. A BIT TOO SLOW FOR MY TASTE. I FIND DELVING BACKWARDS INTO THE BORING VANILLA LIVES OF THE CHARACTERS WE'VE GROWN TO ADMIRE IS A WASTE OF VALUABLE TIME. GET ON WITH IT. I'M OVER THEIR PAST, EARLY, SO THE SEASON NEEDS TO SPEED UP.

I UNDERSTAND THE ATTEMPT TO CREATIVELY HAVE THIS DESIRED BUILDUP TO DEVELOP THE BACK STORY...BUT WITH A SHOW THIS GREAT AND BRILLIANT, WHY BOTHER TO BE TYPICAL???
