Good show to explore characters
afg-9065811 December 2019
I actually liked this episode because it lets things slow down a bit and learn more about the characters. As a faithful viewer since Day 1, I enjoy a slow pace episode with more feeling every nap often. Furthermore, it is a Christmas episode so maybe that was why it was lighter in context. Relax people, stop being so mean and critical! Enjoy the show!!!

Not a soap opera BUT
cpotato10109 December 2019
Warning: Spoilers
Very talky, virtually no action.

There was the opening scenario, which unless I missed something, made no real sense.

Then we have 35 minutes of talking before we get to the action. This is over in less than five minutes, and we are back to talking again.

There are a few possibilities here, none of them mutually exclusive.

1) Daniela Ruah is pregnant again, and they have decided to make Kensi pregnant as well.

2) Linda Hunt is leaving the show.

3) The writer(s) are having a mid-life crisis, and decided to use the characters as therapy.

At least there was no cliff-hanger. Is that a spoiler?

The NCIS franchise is known for very limited character development. Maybe once every ten episodes you'd have five minutes devoted to the personal life of a character or couple. That's it.

Devoting 35 minutes to that today and 5 or so minutes to action was a mistake.

Not horrible, just the formula didn't work.

It's season 11 people, get with it!
haktylalkesh21 December 2019
Warning: Spoilers
Soooo, it's season 11 and as with many shows fans start getting more and more bitter. Some episodes in later seasons don't always rise up to the occasion compared to episodes of the first few, but that isn't really anything that bothers me too much. It's people's apparent lack of patience when it comes to the last seasons of a tv show that winds me up, because that is the way great tv shows get cancelled. And who would want that??

You can't write a show that is in its 11th season the same way you wrote it when it was season 2! Because that, if anything, would be confusing and bad. When a show has gone this far, to its 11th season, you have to get experimental and focus on things that may be unfamiliar. If you don't, then the show will just become stagnant. Repeating the same over and over again, which can happen so easily with shows like NCIS.

Personally, I think the show has managed to breakt the mold to a certain extent this season and my rating for the season so far would be 8,5-9. I gave this episode a 9, because, the conversations were actually fairly interesting. The best one being between Callen and Sam. Seeing both of them go beyond their comfortzones (as did the episode), really felt like something was being added to their personality instead of just seeing them running into another explosion.

The conversation between Deeks and Kensi was okay. Perhaps a bit repetitive but still poignant to the point at which the characters are at the moment. The one that had some issues was the "Neric" one. It started out okay, but the whole scene about Nell's mother was unnecessary and yes, a bit "soap operish".

All in all, "Answers" written by Kyle Harimoto continued the experimental style of season 11 in a beneficial manner. With good writing and interesting contemplation on the character's futures it expanded the already existing knowledge that we, the fans, have of them and it was refreshing to see that the show can slow down for a while and do something different and unique.

Happy holidays everybody!

Was This a Soap Opera?
jaccer119 December 2019
I appreciate all the explorations of everyone's next steps and current affairs, but some of this seemed more like a "Soap Opera."

No Christmas party but....
JasonSterling2930 December 2019
Warning: Spoilers
If you know someone for 11 years and you form a relationship what do you do? You discuss said relationship. If you had the same job/career for 11 years what do you do? You discuss your future; was I happy with my last 11 years in my job? What do I want to do in the future?

If you watched this series from season 1 episode 1 you will have no problem with it or at the very least shouldn't have any problems with it.

The only disappointment is no Christmas Party I saved this episode for Christmas day I didn't get to watch it on Christmas day and it turned out right in the end because no Christmas party!!! I guess when you have matters of the heart to discuss there is no time to party.

'Answers' slowed down the fast pace team. It should 3 pairs of people connected in 3 different ways. Eric and Nell discussed their relationship, Kensi, and Deeks shared their thoughts on the task of getting pregnant and Sam and Callen talk about either of them stepping up to be operations manager along with relationships.

This is an episode of die hard NCIS: Los Angeles fans. Well done I loved in. P.S. If there is season 12 bring back the Christmas Party.

Who cares?
jlong-895999 December 2019
This episode is pathetic. It was full of phony, contrived "emotion". Watching it made me feel like I was stuck on an endless loop of daytime television.

Very bad episode
maxaira10 December 2019
Been watching all the NCIS: LA from the beginning and have enjoyed most of them, but this was, to be kind, quite pathetic. City of LA on the verge, we are told of a major terrorist attack and the whole team sitting around discussing their personal lives and the problems they feel they're facing. In a word, who cares? The threat received about 1% of the program and quickly cared for at the end. The rest ... well, little sense in discussing it for it has already been discussed ad nauseam. Let's hope for better writing in the coming year.

Was this a chick flick?
billrw-29-2197339 December 2019
I went back and clicked through this episode, and counted MAYBE ten minutes of anything that had to do with catching the guy planning a terrorist attack on LA. But we learned a lot about everyone's dreams and plans for the future! BORing!

Too bad....
LittleStorpingInTheSwuff11 December 2019
This episode was just too bad. Too bad negative stars aren't available. One star is waaay too high for this episode. I kept skipping forward a few minutes at a time trying to find some actual action and/or drama but I didn't find an until about 5 minutes from the end. And even that was on the substandard side. Too bad this once entertaining show has devolved into a really bad soap opera with a little action mixed in just to keep the audience from falling asleep.

It was nice to get to know more about the characters but this episode was so boring. It was really an effort for me to finish this episode.

I gave this episode one star for the cool chairs in Ops
insideout09815 December 2019
Warning: Spoilers
This was the most pathetic episode - if you can call it that - that i have ever seen...and I have seen all of them. A terrorist attack in LA is imminent - like today and maybe right now - and the entire episode up until 6:22 seconds was wasted on an endless string of romantic etudes no one cares a wit about!!! What is wrong with you people? Run out of money? Bored? A combo?

Sappy

This series, as the original NCIS, gets more sophomoric every week. It's time for both to pack it up for good.

Is anyone writing anymore?
cenzaman6 January 2020
We have been watching this show for a long time and it has gotten so bad the past couple of years, this episode being the worst. I'm sick of the romance between everyone. What happened to the action? If we drank, we could make a drinking game out of how many times Kensi and Deeks say baby. I feel like the writers of the show quit years ago and the actors are just going with it now. I think the only reason we're still watching it is because we're hoping the end is coming soon and we'd like to say we watched it until the end. We might not make it.

The One With All the Emotions
readsmuzic10 December 2019
The entire episode seemed strangely out of character. Every single regular character got emotional, half of them actually cried. It didn't resonate with me and while I wanted to feel compassion for them, I just couldn't get over the irregularity if the entire episode.

Had problems but...
Hbsw18 December 2019
...Not because of the fact the Team talked while waiting for a colleague. My issues were the conversations themselves especially Neric and Sallen. The "answers" were unsatisfactory for Neric and aggravation mixed with unsubtle hints of the future for Sallen.

The first episode where i skipped to the end.
MyEinsamkeit7 November 2022
Wow what in the world is this, NCIS Young and the Restless or something?

They actually wrote up a script where the team discusses their careers for almost the entire episode and only put in one action scene at the end with a tiresome boring wrestler.

I have watch every episode from season one and haven't' skipped any episodes, that's how amazing and good NCIS LA is. But this episode was just tiresome and boring, it felt like i was watching Bold and the Beautiful or Y&R.

We all know nobody is leaving the team lol. So why bother to drag the storyline so long throughout the episode. Ugh. Skipped this one folks, unless you like listening to people have discussions 95% of the episode.

One of the slowest episodes
moov_e_c_er28 February 2022
Warning: Spoilers
Last episode mother had momentum: action, intensity, danger and at times horrible lines from the "son". This episode was total filler. I found myself tuning out many times except one part when the bad guys had a plan, many guns and explosives. But of course the team takes them down and Nell and Beale saying like "well that was a day" completely stole from any excitement. Most of the episode are the main characters talking about potentially moving on - was this attempt to tease or annoy the audience? Anyone watching all doesn't want to be pushed away from the characters they have become attached to. Anyone that sort of watches the show doesn't care who stays or goes. Was this episode just to make the season long enough to match previous seasons? I was so bored and I've gone back to watch from episode 1 season 1.

Goof; The visiting agent says he's "downloading" photos to the main NCIS group here. You Upload to send to someone. They download your files.
