Loved Parts of It.
spuddcw2000-129 March 2020
Warning: Spoilers
The whole GA episode from 3/26 looked like a dream to me. I thought that Maggie, Teddy, and Hayes were all going to wake up in the blue room visa-vie the Dallas episode where Bobby shows up in the shower. It all seemed out of left field; Maggie's old flame--apparently it wasn't in the budget for her to have flashbacks; Hayes and Teddy got flashbacks.... Then they would go into the conference room to watch Richard's breakdown. Sad episode both in terms of content and presentation.

That being said, Why Pickens isn't a major movie star, I can't understand. What an actor. He dominates every scene he is in so thoroughly. I wish that he had better material but the episodes aren't terrible...they are just not up to the standards of the past.

Why the bad reviews
stuartsanderson16 September 2021
This episode gives some more background to the characters. It furthers the story about Richard. It might not be as fast paced as previous episodes or seasons, but it is all relevant and important to the development for future stories.

Richard's Stroke
ZegMaarJus23 September 2023
Warning: Spoilers
This Episode begins with Richard and Maggie, they are on a medical conference in Los Angeles. Richard and Catherine made it up with each other. Maggie had sex with Winston. Teddy had a relationship with a woman in the past, her name was Allison. Teddy was the love of Allison her life. Richard gets a stroke during his presentation. Richard has been brought to the hospital. Solid Episode of Grey's Anatomy Season 16, an okay Episode this time. A non hospital Episode will never get a high rating from me. This is not where this series is about. Richard got a stroke during the presentation, will he have damage afterwards?

It's actually what it's supposed to be
tanja-3661227 March 2020
Warning: Spoilers
This TV show is not medical show only, it's a drama show based on surgeons and their lives. And this episode was actually a great mind blow and a proof that even after 15 years Shonda can still do it - make drama. If people want to watch medical videos, they should go and watch surgery videos, this is exactly what the show is supposed to be. Sometimes there will be unrealistic surgeries, and sometimes there will be medical breakthroughs, but the surgical drama is the thing that shouldn't stop. Remember, she killed off 90% of her original cast and the show is still in the top 10. I think that speaks enough. So stop with the madness that she should go back to having medical breakthroughs and surgeries only in the episodes. Stroke, cancer and human behavior during those conditions were present in the episode, so yes, it was still a medical TV drama.

Heartwrenching shonda at her best. Haven't cried like this since McDreamy died. Brutal. Devastated and also full of anticipation at finding out what will happen with Richard.

Please don't do this

Warning: Spoilers
I was really sure, that ep. 12 was the lowest point of this season, but no, this was way worse. I mean, the hell the writers and producers are thinking? All of a sudden they dug out an absolute rubbish backstory for Teddy, which is absoletely against her character, which has been built for a decade? Blam, out of the blue a nice guy came and Maggie just... do what? Totally acting in a non-Maggie way? What was that, I beg? You are ruining my favourite show, guys.

brilliant

Warning: Spoilers
I truly love how in this episode we were able to see pain, loss and bliss. the explanation of Teddy's romantic affairs before she enlisted in Afghanistan, the loss of Hayes wife, Maggie's love quarrel with her old resident, and most importantly the hallucinations and memory loss that Richard was having. Truly amazing

Not the Grey's I once loved
nevangelista-6166527 March 2020
For a few seasons, the dynamic of the show has shifted to less medical and more drama filled. Fine. 16 seasons in and while I don't like every storyline, overall I still love the show and defend it to naysayers. I have to say that the only redeeming part of this episode was the ending (as sad as it was). Of course hearing about McWidows backstory made sense because he is a new character but everything else in this episode felt forced and didn't work in terms of continuity. It called GREYS. ANATOMY. Please bring back the grey and the anatomy. Until then, I am disappointed and patiently awaiting the SERIES finale.

Worst episode
kitkatkate-641253 April 2020
This has got to be one of the worst episodes of this show. The whole season is going down hill. They killed Teddys character development and Maggie barely acts like herself in this episode. It is like a cheesy drama. Not good.

So Bad.

Warning: Spoilers
So, Teddy is gay now too... Sure. Maggie is an entirely different Character. And, Richard goes from a shaky hand to batcrap crazy in one episode. It's hard sifting through the rubble of what used to be an incredible show. End this. End it now. Series finale needed stat! DNR

Just stop now!!
rokchik0716 July 2020
Is it just me that thinks it's time to call it a night on Greys Anatomy?!? It's just getting worse and worse each week!! I've gone from crying at every episode to now wondering 'what's the point'.. I don't care about the characters anymore and the storylines are just ridiculous!! It's been a good run, time to give it up!!

More unbelievable than The Notebook
kklewis201223 August 2023
Warning: Spoilers
Maggie suddenly gets together with an old, charming crush who also has a crush on her, asks her out, they immediately hookup, etc etc, and he doesn't turn out to be a serial killer?? That's a dream, not a possible reality of being a human being. Nothing is that perfect. That is more unbelievable than The Notebook, which is saying something.

Then Teddy suddenly turns out to be bi? That one was definitely done JUST for diversity points. The aspect of having a flashback to her helping someone cheat would've added to the plot, but not like this.

I have no idea what to think of Richard's mess going on, but it all feels wrong for his character.

This show should've ended a while ago, but this particular season should've been a blaring red flag for the showrunners that action needed to be taken.

Bad on top of Bad
sisdog-31 March 2020
Sorry, I don't care about this guy. I haven't even remembered his name. What the hell even is this episode!? The 9/11 part if this was a little too much. My guess is another main character is leaving so they are trying to make viewers care about these characters to replace them. Sorry....

Where did that come from?
simoberoi12 April 2020
I will not try to write a review as the creators don't try to write a decent story. Season 17 should be cancelled.

GENERAL HOSPITAL: Night-Time Version
NothingSacred_com16 June 2020
It started out so well, and now it's garbage of the worst kind-- SOAP OPERA GARBAGE! Look! A piteously emaciated actress in a blond wig and ten pounds of make-up- who's supposed to have two men fighting over her. THIS is what GREY'S ANATOMY is all about now?? Shonda Rhimes apparently has no shame, whatsoever, and will ANYTHING for a buck.

It's great that the Pompeo character is written as still slightly interested in medicine, but every other character on the show is busy screwing, having jealous triangles, and making babies without knowing the fathers.

Couldn't care less anymore. SAD!

Stopp the exposition madness

Too. Much. Exposition. This episode was the equivalent of the order of the Phoenix. Mostly unnecessary to say what it needed to say. Get it together shonda

Irony is lost on the writers.
violetstarfury31 March 2020
Okay, so like everyone else in the writers universe, the liberal agenda is being so focused on, people cannot see the idiocy of what they are writing. In one minute of this episode the doctors are all promoting the "amazing" idea of socialized medicine and then moments later are complaining about how terrible the VA hospital system is. I like the drama of this show but this is pure stupidity, VA hospitals are exactly what socialized medicine hospitals would look like. Wake up people.
