Chicken farm children homes
greenbudgie25 September 2021
It is sad that some people now aged in their mid-80s are still trying to find their roots and coming to terms with their childhood abductions. They are the victims of Heinrich Himmler's Lebensborn racial mania in the 1941-1945 period of WW2. Himmler was then keen to abduct children from Poland and Slovenia and the Ukraine to bolster the Nazi Aryan stock. Children in Eastern Europe with blonde hair and the appropriate features were selected to be taken to orphanages to be Germanized. German foster parents were free to go to these institutions so they could take any of the children they found pleasing. One of the elderly victims likened the orphanages to chicken farms. This is an apt description I thought as Heinrich Himmler himself had once been a chicken farmer. I found the most unhappy case to be of Josef who was abducted at the age of 9 after his pregnant mother had been shot. Some of the other victims don't know anything of their roots at all. It's strange that the 1946 Nuremberg Tribunal declared the Lebensborn orphanages as charitable institutions and therefore didn't take the appropriate action. Some of the other cases are more complex in which the victims have a variety of thoughts and adjustments to their criminal abductions.
