Improvements abound as the drama comes to a head.

Warning: Spoilers
The character of the virginal Geraldine James suffers humiliation from an encounter with the salacious Stuart Wilson who refers to her non-sexual past in very crude terms over and over again, sitting in the nude as he insults her in a way that is absolutely repulsive. She suffers even more with the death of her beloved aunt, Fabian Drake, and her nasty mother (Judy Parfit) utilizes this moment to degrade the elderly Peggy Ashcroft, completely vulnerable over her long time friends death. The class distinction isn't online between the British and Indians in India, but between various classes of the British as well, and it's difficult not to feel sorry for the lovely character the soon to be Oscar winning Ashcroft played. Times are obviously changing in India as the world war ends, and the British are going to have a major culture shock as the upper class finds themselves no longer as well come as before. That marks a distinct improvement over the episodes after number two so this is quite a lot better.
