. . . novel or new? Not really. Is it transparent enough that the average third-grader will see it coming from a mile away? Probably. Are there any gags or funny bits likely to make a Popeye complete-this happy that they have joined the thinning ranks of the True Believers who have endured its five minute, thirty-eight second running time? Unlikely. Is it feasible that this Popeye episode will elicit a hearty chuckle, or at least a half-heart-ted ho-ho? Fat chance. Is it possible to excavate at least a tiny bit of Redeeming Social Value here to justify STRANGE THINGS ARE HAPPENING's continuing existence on Planet Earth? What do you think?
