Just Desserts: Part 3 - The Fastest Cork in the West
Prismark1029 September 2020
Bognor is in a muddle. His boss Parkinson tells him to back down. It just spurs Bognor on and Parkinson banked on that.

What Bognor discovers that the death of Scoff and other chefs was more than just bad reviews in good food guides.

Blight-Purley points Bognor to a multinational entrepreneur that has a small vineyard in France. They are passing the wine from there with some added flavours as a newly launched English wine.

Monica helps out in finding important clues that Scoff left behind which pointed to industrial espionage. Bognor finds himself in danger but also realises what has been causing his ailments. Blight-Purley should had paid more attention to his drink.

Just Desserts is another story that ended up in a mess. It is all so absurd that I could never take the characters being in peril seriously at all. At least there was a lot of exposition as the story got wrapped up.

I do think the books by Tim Heald just did not translate to the small screen. They should had been more like how Tom Sharpe books leapt from the page onto the television.

Of course after a very underwhelming first series. Only one story in the second series was made. The rest I presumed were cancelled as production was going on.

Bognor did live on. Tim Heald wrote more stories about the character.
