As our story opens, the notorious jewel thief known as Tiny Terror, has just pulled another job. He's called Tiny Terror for obvious reasons. He's a very small man, but with big ambitions and he's very strong. But right now, he and his boys are being pursued by the space fuzz. In a desperate attempt to disguise himself and hide the hot ice, Tiny disguises himself as...a baby. Yep, shaved off his stubble, dressed up in an over-sized bonnet and diaper, and holding a large rattle, he was all set. He stashes the jewels in his rattle and has himself dropped off at the Sky Pad Apartments, at the Jetsons' place. He's fetched in by Astro, in lieu of the paper. The family instantly buys this obvious midget in a diaper as a baby and try calling the police, which makes the "baby" cry. Alas, the little tyke's diaper ID has no match. So, it looks as though the Jetsons will have a baby for a while. That's when a cop shows up looking for Tiny Terror, just as the aforementioned thug incognito runs away and hides in the back of George's car. Not noticing his little passenger because he late for work...again, George hops in the car and starts it (why it sounds like a Model T Ford, I have no idea) and they're off. Finally realizing he has a baby on board, George finds he has little choice but to take him along to work. Thankfully Spacely didn't notice, due to being preoccupied by his new racetrack betting machine. But a visit from his wife put a damper on all proposed gambling ventures.
George gets in a poker game with Uniblab, and as it turns out, Junior is quite the shuffler himself. Spacely breaks in, asking George to place a bet for him. But, Tiny managed to keep George busy by sabotaging Uniblab and snuck off to Spacely's office to place the bet himself. Confident that Spacely had selected a loser, Tiny changes the bet, and to everyone's surprise, it wins. Mr. Spacely instantly wants to adopt the child from George, seeing as how its a gambling genius, and they engaged in a tug'o war, but George emerges the victor. That evening, Tiny's henchmen stop by, disguised as the world's most ridiculous looking couple, claiming to be the baby's real parents. As the thieves make a sloppy attempt to escape, Astro manages to jump the "parents" while Tiny gets stopped by a cop coming to get the baby. To top it off, the rattle breaks open to reveal the stolen jewels. And so, the crooks are taken away and Astro is deemed a hero.
While there isn't much plot to this one, "Little Bundle of Trouble" is a good episode. It's sort of a remake of a Bugs Bunny cartoon where a miniature bank robber disguises himself as a baby in order to get his bag of stolen money, which happened to fall in Bugs' hole. In the cartoon world, such a premise would work, but never in real life. It would be very hard to mistake a small man for a baby, even in the case of Mini-Me; anyway, for what it's worth, this episode does a nice spin on the 'found baby' premise, which always makes for a nice episode. I guess they could have gone the traditional route and used a real baby, except it's funnier when the people taking it in are inexperienced with child care. George and Jane have two kids, Astro is a considerable third and even George himself can be childish, Elroy would have a decent knowledge of children, seeing as how he is one, and Judy, well, she would probably need some guidance as she can be a big baby herself, so such a premise wouldn't have had the same effect. Would have been nice though. Anyway, I say give this one a try. Good fun and good story. An excellent way to spend 30 minutes.
