This 30 minute documentary offers an enjoyably low-key and unpretentious glimpse at the making of the belated sequel for the notoriously twisted 1983 slasher cult classic "Sleepaway Camp." The stunningly gorgeous Felissa Rose admits that she's truly excited to reprise her role as the infamous Angela and comes across like an extremely charming person. We get to see Felissa undergoing extensive make-up to become the creepy Sheriff Jerry. Various cast members rave about what a joy it is to work for writer/director Robert Hiltzik, who seems like a relaxed and likable guy on the set. Among the other things covered in this doc are the first day of shooting, actor Vincent Pastore flubbing his lines during an especially tricky dialogue scene, frog wranglers doing their job, a group rehearsal, parrot trainers working with the bird, the grisly make-up f/x for various gruesome murder set pieces, and the filming of the ending with Angela crushing a police officer's head under a car. Moreover, there's a sweet and touching tribute to the late, great Isaac Hayes. Best of all, Felissa Rose once again does her famous scary grimace at the conclusion of this documentary. While not too insightful about the film-making process, this short nonetheless still does the trick because it has a winningly breezy and engaging vibe to it that's fun to watch. The jaunty banjo music score rates as another nifty plus. Worth seeing for fans of the movie.
