This isn't what I had hoped it would be....

"The Great American Broadcast" was a very strange musical about the early days of radio--very strange indeed. It played fast and loose with the real history of radio and so I assumed this special feature included on the DVD would actually correct the mistakes in the feature film--to tell us about the real history of radio. Well, this was NOT what the featurette was about--it was ONLY about "The Great American Broadcast" and told nothing about the history of radio nor did it attempt to correct its mistakes. It also, very oddly, never mentioned a weird aspect of the movie--how the film was supposed to be showing radio acts being performed as the show is broadcast to America YET many of the acts (such as the Nicholas Brothers) were purely visual. The home audiences had no way of seeing any of this and it just made no sense at all. Oh well. As a 'making of' film, "Radio Waves" was okay...nothing particularly inspiring and too short and superficial. I expected more.
