simple and warm

I have watched a lot of food related Japanese dramas and films, I do enjoy most of them while I find some of them a bit superficial, but this falls more to former if you take a closer look. It's normal to find exaggerated acting in such shows but the overall acting here is natural and the topics are very simple. I saw some certain misogynistic people in reviews complaining about the lack of skin exposure, like how can you be so rude. The focus of this drama is to focus on the food and FL's attitude towards cooking along with her customers. If you wanna see such, just go watch something else that suits you.

Insight into Japanese culture

It's like being a fly on the wall of a local neighbourhood pub/restaurant. Likeable characters with very subtle storyline intertwined with cooking up simple dishes. Charming and with humor. The old customers are funny and charming and it feels authentic and well acted. Wish there was another season.

This series is filled with warmth and dedication to craft. It reminds each one that what ever you do, if you do it with much love and passion, what will come put is so beautiful! Two thumbs up!

It'll make you hungry

The storyline is simple, how food are made and how it connects people. It's warm and gonna make you hungy for sure. If you love to cook and like japanese cuisine, they also highlight sake selection and give cooking tutorial at the end of each episode that you can easily follow. I really hope there will be season 2 but apparently that's not gonna happen.

Calming Japanese tv show
junseongkim15 February 2022
Takes you to a friendly neighbourhood Japanese restaurant. Little plot, no drama, soothing to watch. However the brief moments of corny scenes and forced expressions (and tears) are simply unbearable. Without these over-the-top scenes, I'd give it a 9.
