Sex & Nudity

  • In the Buu saga, Goku tells Old Kai that he will get Bulma to kiss him, and Vegeta (Bulma's husband) gets angry.
  • Some suggestive humor.
  • Some partial male nudity, comical style.
  • One character is a perverted old man.

Violence & Gore

  • It has a lot of violence but it isn't as bad as the original.
  • A boy is stabbed through the torso by a horn. The horn is seen sticking through him, and blood comes out of his wound. The blood trickles down the horn and lands on his attacker's face, the attacker then licks it off.
  • A man is grabbed by the neck and repeatedly punched in the back many times. The man throws up blood.
  • A man's arm is sliced off.
  • An alien is sliced in half. Purple alien blood, and dismembered body parts are seen
  • A hole is blasted through a man's stomach. Blood drips from his wound and a puddle of blood forms on the ground. As he walks, a trail of blood follows him.
  • A young boy's neck is broken. He is seen on the ground unable to breath, with a glazed over expression.
  • A man is picked up by a robot, and stabbed through the stomach with its hand. The robot pulls his hand out, and a considerable amount of blood is shown splattering on the ground.
  • A man is stabbed in the back by an alien's tail. The tail begins to suck the contents of his body out. His hand and face are seen shriveling up until he is completely gone. His clothes remain on the ground. This scene could be frightening to younger viewers. It is also implied that this happened to many people. Entire cities are seen abandoned with empty clothes lying all over.
  • A man's legs are crushed and broken by a giant monster. The man screams as they are repeatedly stepped on.
  • A woman is beaten violently in the world tournament. On many occasions she is picked up by her opponent and punched repeatedly as blood sprays out of her mouth. Near the end of the fight she is knee'd in the head, and lots of blood is seen dripping from her mouth and face.
  • The corpses of a family are seen. A man, woman, and young child are seen lying dead outside of their house.
  • A man is kicked in the face and his neck is broken. His head is also dislocated and almost completely backwards. He falls over supposedly dead. Shortly after, he stands up and slowly puts his head back in place.
  • A dog is shot by a sniper. The dog is seen laying on the ground with blood coming out of the wound.
  • A boy's arm is injured. Lots of blood is shown trickling down his arm and dripping on the ground.
  • A man is pinned to the wall and punched multiple times. He coughs up blood.
  • A man's head explodes, no blood is shown.
  • An alien's head is blasted off by a laser beam. After this, purple blood is shown spurting and dripping out of his neck.
  • A man clenches his fist so hard that his nails stab his skin. Blood starts to seep out from under his fingers. This happens multiple times throughout the show.
  • Mostly over-the-top anime martial arts fighting, including energy blasts and lasers.
  • Violence can get pretty brutal, with some gory scenes. Some characters get blasted through with energy beams, and you can see a big hole in their body. (Uncut version)
  • Characters have mostly blood on them (nose, mouth, cheek, etc) throughout when in a battle, if intense.

Profanity

  • Some moderate language.
  • Several uses of mild swear like hell, damn, damn it, ass and bastard. Stronger language like bitch, son of a bitch, shit, piece of shit, holy shit, shitty, dumbass, jackass, ass hat, ass face, asshole, prick, dick, dickhead, dickwad, Goddamn, goddamn it, douchebag, balls.
  • In the Japanese version, Bitch, Damn, Hell, Bastard, Piss, Ass, Dumbass, Jackass and Badass are used.
  • The Nicktoons dub has no profanities, with childish words, such as "heck" and "darn". In the uncut English dub, many episodes has mild language, such as "damn", "hell", "bastard", "crap", "piss" and "ass".
  • In this version, there's no middle finger, just cuss words.
  • Several minor language, such as "hell", "damn", "bastard", "ass", "piss" and "crap".
  • The language in the remastered version are increased common than in the original version.
  • In Season 1 (DBZ Kai), several uses of "hell", "damn", "damn it" and "bastard". A few uses of "crap", "piss", and "bugger". 15 uses of "ass". 1 use of "shit". "Son of a bitch" is almost used a few times.
  • These profanities are obviously edited on Nicktoons.

Alcohol, Drugs & Smoking

  • The characters are seen drinking beer occasionally.
  • Dr. Briefs smokes as well as Bulma in some episodes. Nothing too much though. Hardly noticeable.

Frightening & Intense Scenes

  • On many occasions, large amounts of people are mercilessly killed.
  • Many villains in this series engage in mass homicide, usually in a nonchalant manner.
  • The fight scenes are more intense then in the original series. Even though the Kai series is a remastered version of the original series with some things added, Kai series is edited down to be closely adapted to the manga, so the battles are straight to the point and there are hardly any fillers like there was in the originals. So there is more fighting then talking, and the battles do get very intense, at least in the uncut versions.

Spoilers

Sex & Nudity

  • During the Frieza Saga, one episode features a female character in only a top and undies. Two male characters are accompanied while this is happening. This is a short scene however.

Violence & Gore

  • Android 16 is blasted into pieces by Cell. His head is seen lying on the floor and Cell kicks it far away. Cell steps on his head and blood along with pieces of metal are sprayed out. His crushed head is later seen. This scene may be sad for some viewers.
