Grandpa is depressed missing his brother, Uncle Lucius. Tammy is concerned and talks about it with Mr. Brent who feels a job may help. Meanwhile, Grandpa comes across a young woman named Marilyn (uncredited) who is shook up after hitting a young dog in the road. The puppy turns out to be alright and the woman suggests Grandpa keep the dog and he names it Delilah. Mr. Brent and Mr. Whitt go to the houseboat to offer a minor gardening chore to Grandpa and comically mistake overhearing his affection for the dog as for the woman. A concerned Mr. Brent goes to talk to Grandpa about the situation, but he assumes he is talking about himself. Mr. Brent and Mr. Whitt try to put a stop to what they mistake as a raging affair.
