Much Better
tonyandsilvia19948 October 2021
Last week's episode was a dud, but this week's was much more entertaining. I'd still rather they kept the episodes in the 60s though.

I'm doing my best to watch this season to the end but it's so hard... Like how can you create something special at the beginning of this season with talents and etc. And then come up with this nonsense. What's the point to split season in two parts and don't make any of those part amazing. It's just disappointing and pity.

I really like the story they are trying to tell. The black and white part is fantastic anf the modern day part is good as well. I love Leslie Grossman and Angelica Ross. AND THAT CLIFFHANGER????

Better..
rjjackson-171207 October 2021
My comment is based on the acting, considering bad acting can kill the best of scripts, it's great to see some actors who can act.. I liked the new direction, it takes away from the usual recycled scripts that AHS does. It's just a shame as I felt last weeks episode was let down by bad acting, not all models can act.. instead why not give chances to unknown young aspiring actors who can act..? I just feel let down by a series that all but shoves the fact that differences are good, chances to be and do better are great .. then turns around and doesn't give chances to those who don't have their faces plastered all over magazines or have parents with contacts. Why not support unknowns?

More B&W, less AHStories
theriaultOwen7 October 2021
Huge improvement over last episode! There was much more black and white stuff happening this episode which is great and less AHStories stuff going on. The teen stuff has definitely gotten better and much more interesting. Already loving Angelica Ross and Leslie Grossmans new characters.

Wow. An improvement.

Don't get me wrong, it isn't amazing by any means. But I think this episode was better than the last in terms of story. The acting could still use a little work from the young actors but I really like what they are setting up.

A step in the right direction. Twice as good as the previous 2 episodes combined.

Big improvement

Warning: Spoilers
I enjoyed this episode!

We got more of the black and white and less of the present day, which I'm sure helped with the overall quality. That saying, even the present day scenes were a lot better and interesting. Wasn't bored and cringing the whole time like last episode.

Loving Angelica Ross' character and Leslies as well.

It's going in a cool direction that I'm excited to see, but having only 2 more episodes has me a bit worried of how this is gonna end... especially with how Red Tide ended with 6 episodes.

However, I'm a bit disappointed that Lily Rabes Amelia Aerhart is already gone as well as Rebecca Dayans character. Wish we would have had a bit more time with both those characters.

Anyways, this was refreshing to say the least from last weeks misstep (talking about the present day scenes of course, the B&W scenes in that episode were amazing). There are still some minor issues, but I'm happy to overlook them this time.

Tried to give it a chance
mls41828 October 2021
Wow. Ryan Murphy takes more liberties mixing real life figures and events with fiction than Oliver Stone. Forget Ike and Mamie, Monroe was so bombed out on pills she couldn't distinguish a UFO from a passing motorcycle at night.

Pregnant men? No. I just can't. Where dies the baby come out? Eaugh. I'm not sticking around to find out.

Improvement but not amazing

Warning: Spoilers
This episode was definitely a lot better than "Take Me To Your Leader" and "Winter Kills", I wouldn't say it was great though. The 1950s part was good and Sarah Paulson was great, the present day was a great improvement,The episode was good but also kinda predictable with the Alien story line.

Wow this is really good the 1950's is pure horror the 2020's is just pure crack
harry-345187 October 2021
This episode was stronger then episode 6 and 7 but yet is not as good as the other episodes of red tide. However this episode felt smooth and fun to watch with the 1950's feeling like horror and the 2000's feeling like a crack journy 1950/60s: The acting here is so good Paulson steals the show. The writting is really stronf the stron visual style continues here I also really liked the new cast editions. 9/10 2020: The cast here did a better job with Kia slowely getting better. The highlight of this part was Grossman and Ross coming in and stealing the show with their amzing roles- 8/10.

better than the 10x07

Warning: Spoilers
Black and white part : it is slowing down a bit but i find it good and interesting. The acting is good. We know more about aliens. The next episode should probably reveal more than what we have.

Recent part : hmmmmm. Let's see a positive point, it is better than the previous episode. They stop talking about sex 95% of the time. We see what's inside of them, they get kidnapped and at the end, we have an alien that is gonna born. Really much more than the previous episode. The acting is really not the best and i'm glad to see Leslie grossman because she acts better than the young people. I hope we get a good plot twist... because the episode feels like it could be a 23 min episode.

But still a guilty pleasure rather than something really worth watching. We almost forgot this episode had hit HULU because there's not enough here to make you rush to find out what's happening. It feels like this show has run its course.

I do love AHS and hope this turns around. I'm really not liking the idea of a 1 for 2 offer this season.

Warning: Spoilers
Yes. He is THAT old.

So as everyone else mentioned, this is a stark improvement from the last two episodes. One thing they didn't get completely right is that Amelia's bones were just very recently found, if I am not mistaken. (Not that it matters.)

Ok, so now the modern day alien story: I'm still having a hard time looking at one of the "No H0m0" dudes from AHStories, I just can't with him, but his partner bugged out...I fully anticipated him to squeal, "Troy! I don't NEED this negative energy right now," in a petulant frenzy. Alas, I do not write the dialogue here.

Calico is wonderful, I've grown to really appreciate and love Leslie Grossman over the years.

And the ending is a bit Hemlock Grove. Now we actually know how Shelley came to be. If you've not seen HG, I urge you to do so: It's in the same AHS vein, so to speak.

Apart Marylin Monroe looking like a monster...
pskachova7 October 2021
No offense ment to the actress, Alisha Soper, of course. She is a good actress and all, but totally miscast and unbelievable for a Marylin, starting from her face features.

Anyway, while I like this season, it puzzled me totally as it was cut in half and the plot changed totally. So the Black Pill series ended and the UFO series started and it´s like we have two different series packed in one, with no connection between them whatsoever. I could not understand that - they could have just easily shoot a new series called the UFO in black and white.... I am a bit disappointed as the Black Pill series (as I call it) did not have the right ending, it feels like unexplained.

Let´s see where this new series will bring us to.

By the way, I don´t like the new young actors - they are models and influencers, in real life, but not really good actors. Many of you said that....

Poor costuming, propwork and acting
aaronsmeeker7 October 2021
Here we go again with the lax writing and lazy effects. I just dont know where I'm supposed to start liking this. All they did was take a well known conspiracy theory based on human advancement and blow it up into a show... this is just bad.

The black and white doesn't seem to add anything to the story, unless we are to believe that back in the 60s the world was black and white. Pointless and honestly a trick a lot of people used to use to get away with cheap props and not having to worry about the colors of setworks.

Now,I find it terrible that they go to a doctor to get an ultrasound and find it clear as day with a great detailed picture of an alien on the monitor... lazy and not how it works. Was that shot for people they think are morons? Then the obvious alien doctor... can clearly see the prosthetic finger extensions. Didn't even bother blending them in well or deglossing them. And that helmet/facemask. They just come back from a CON? Weird unpractical cosplay mask.

I'm honestly done with this season, its lazy and presumes its audience is oblivious and stupid. I miss the depth of the first few seasons.

Uncomfortably Creepy
JoshuaMercott9 October 2021
Warning: Spoilers
This episode was a tad slow, but understandably so. It highlighted the hidden tensions surrounding UFOs within The U. S. Government, this time under JFK. Plenty of subtext and thrills prevailed, a trend that continued into the 'modern colour' versions of the "Death Valley" storyline - in keeping with the way the previous episode progressed.

Tessa Blake's direction was stunning in episode 8 "American Horror Story: Inside". Writers Manny Coto, Brad Falchuk, and Ryan Murphy were in full form - they took several historical liberties with this epi. The cast did exceptional work.

Sarah Paulson's Mamie Eisenhower was simply superb - her politicking was a treat to watch. Neal McDonough's Dwight Eisenhower was a man conflicted - a compelling performance. Mike Vogel as Jack Kennedy was strange to see, I'm not sure why. Alisha Soper's brief portrayal of Marilyn Monroe was nice. The same can be said for Len Cordova's Steve Jobs.

Angelica Ross's Theta - a sort of alien hybrid overseeing the birth of other hybrid aliens through modern-day humans - was quite good. Leslie Grossman's Calico was not her best performance, but good regardless. Finally, Craig Sheffer's Richard Nixon was outstanding - the cream of the performance crop in this epi.

This is one of the more sombre episodes in the series, but is definitely one of the most significant.

All crews did fantastic work. This epi genuinely transported me back in time. Costumes, hair and makeup, production design, music, and more... All did convincing work in this epi. The 'aliens psychically occupying humans' concept was well-executed.

Then came the modern-colour portions/sequences featuring the four now-pregnant friends, men included (!). A doctor's visit led to the MIB stepping in, and the proverbial brown-stuff hit the fan. The story next picked up pace and sped toward a chilling conclusion.

Episode 8 "American Horror Story" Season 10 on Disney+ Hotstar bridged gaps that viewers, myself included, need going forward. Or this season would've later felt as though something was missing.

"AHS" S10E08 was a revealing peek into a dark probability. It captured wonderful performances and hinted at dire possibilities. It was an uncomfortably creepy script, one that wholesomely fit into October 2021's Spooky Season mould.

A much better episode than the first. More in depth story and by the time it reverted back to those horrible present day actors...i had more tollerance towards them because the story is showing some good strengths.

Terrible episode ... Epic fail
nettiegurl27 August 2022
Warning: Spoilers
This is by far the worst episode in the entire series. We forced ourselves to watch it just to see what happened with the aliens.

Poor Direction: The action splits badly between present day 'alien impregnation' of four college kids, and the 1950s Route 66 phenomena.

Poor Casting: Mike Vogel nowhere even remotely resembles the late President John F. Kennedy (They seriously couldn't find a more look-alike actor?)

Poor Writing: Most of the Presidential roundtable discussions are terribly formatted and lame (with the exception of the floating demon alien)

AHS has always delivered quality - which is why it remains a leading horror franchise. We can (somewhat) forgive for THIS poor execution.
