I had never before seen an episode of Batman: the Brave and the Bold until I happened upon the Music Meister episode. When the singing started, I just couldn't pass up the opportunity to see Batman sing. That, and I thought I recognized Neil Patrick Harris' voice (which I did).
In a franchise full of drama, action, and serious facial expressions, this was a welcome departure into the world of humor and upbeat melodies. The music was catchy and clever, and seeing these normally grave faces light up with song was completely hilarious. The earmuff solution reminded me of the days of Adam West's Batman, where such plans are no laughing matter. That made it even more hilarious!
I laud the makers of this episode for taking a break from the Gotham darkness to have some fun. After all, if you can't laugh at yourself, there's really no point in going on.
