This is campy stuff, and a fun scary night episode all us kids remember back in the day. Naturally, Katie is the one left home with Tramp (who doesn't do much) on a dark and stormy night...
Steve is away on business in San Francisco and Charley and the guys go to a must see basketball game. As the storm picks up, Kate starts to hear a creepy heartbeat thumping all over the house. What the heck is that??? In a way, this was almost like a takeoff on the TWILIGHT ZONE, at first you think somebody is playing tricks on Katie --or could this all be a bad dream?
The guys ---who were stuck on a flooded road --FINALLY get home, Kate tells her ominous story to them and falls fast asleep... Then the mysterious heartbeat begins all over, this time keeping the guys wide awake.
Thus begins a tippy toe, look both ways, look over your shoulder search of the house, flashlights ready. Chip and Ernie scream! Is there a coffin in the basement? Stay tuned!
True, and I agree with the last reviewer, it's downright silly at times, but if you grew up on this stuff it's sentimental fun and you have to see it again. Written by Bernard Rothman, who did a lot of light material on tv for Danny Kaye and Judy Garland.
9 Stars for all those old dark house tales.
Two super guest stars. Popular character actor Olan Soule (with that recognizable voice) plays Dr. Smallwood and old timer Guy Wilkerson plays the night watchman at the game. Guy's career went back to the 1930s, a staple in hundreds of westerns and who appeared in some classic movies. His list of film credits is incredible.
Dedicated to all us stuck in the 60s tv fans. SEASON 8 EPISODE 11 remastered color.
