This is actually visceral

I have never wanted to see both more and less of a show. It's horrifyingly painful and relatable and draining. I cannot look away.

Bloody hell
hjgdaisuh22 September 2021
This is not an easy watch. I wanted to keep on watching it as much as I wish I hadn't bothered starting the series because of how uncomfortable it is. It is painfully relatable and torturous to go through but it was a masterful hour of television. I was on the fence in the first episode but this really drove it home for me.

I can't wait for the next episode but at the same time it almost feels wrong. I really can't describe how I feel after that.

Uncomfortably human
bruna_teix20 September 2021
I watched the whole episode painfully aware of how real and relatable this is. How human beings are so complex and, well... selfish in way that is actually not selfish at all, and also not impulsive as many might think. The way she describes feeling like she is constantly having an asthma attack, and feeling like she has to check if she's still alive, is so relatable. I think many of us have felt something like this before, and people around you just don't see it. It is painful and slow burning. And Isaac's character goes through a whole journey of emotions or lack of. It's like when you receive a life changing news and you just freeze.

This episode in my opinion is even better than the first one. I'm still trying to understand what I went through watching it, there were so many emotions, I'm still frozen by it.

It's like getting a peak into someone's nightmarish break up. Amazing show. This episode felt so human. The acting is incredible and so believable. Ten stars.

Relatable

I recently got into a similar situation and this show came at the right time for me. The way everything seems so real is just mesmerizing and I don't have the words to express how much Scenes from a Marriage is messing with my way of seeing things in such a positive, although heartbreaking way.

I can picture myself and so many other people going through what happens in this episode and I just know that watching this emotional rollercoaster is some kind of cathartic experience and that's enough to give it the 5 stars it deserves.

I felt almost as if I was eavesdropping. This was so real and so painful to watch. The acting was stellar. The pain felt physically real to me. As a person who has left a spouse in real life I can attest to the raw brutality that one must convey to the other partner to gain strength to leave! It all played out so real and true!

Probably the finest hour of everyone involved
lareval5 December 2021
I Heard many things about this series beforehand. But nothing could prepared me to this. So uneasy, so complex, so wild, so painful. So real. To say that everyone involved did a masterful job is falling short. This hour left me completely shocked and beyond words. The thing is not how this version compares to the others anymore. The thing is that I have been there before, I know the feels and this is something I will not forget easily. Out of words.

Heartbreaking yet brilliant and almost too relatable

Warning: Spoilers
First review I'm writing on Imdb.

Going through a separation myself, this mini series is just bringing all of my underlaying emotions to the surface. The acting is so relatable and the feelings are coming through so vividly. The thing that made me write this review is the one scene where Mira is packning her suitcase frenetically and Jonathan offers to help. That pain just reaches so deep within me. The way he struggles, the way she feels that she needs to escape in that very moment yet it's so apparent that she feels guilt and shame and still probably love.. It's just amazing to watch and I've not cried so much in a long time watching a drama.

Can't wait for the next episode. (Also, I wish I'd seen the original by Ingmar Bergman..)

... and he didn't see-sense any of this coming... really
bjarias27 September 2021
... there is an unlikableness surrounding this show... the two leads play unlikable characters doing unlikable-unnatural-things... wanting more passion so she cheats (for months)... then declares to hubby he's no longer attractive & she's leaving-him for someone else she's fallen-in-love-with... her younger-lover-boss knows she's married w-a kid (and very-attractive-sexy)... with the husband reacting through it all like it's a nightmare-dream-sequence that will resolve-itself-end if all only remain calm

... then she's out-the-door gone... kid's to wake up in the morning to learn mom will now be living in Israel next 3-months (back visiting weekends)... nice.

Absurd

Warning: Spoilers
I don't know where this story will end at, but this episode irritated me. After she does everything that she can to tell him it's over, and he resists...after he refuses to HEAR her, even after she verbally beats him half to death, and he never even shows any anger, I want to take a couple of swings at this spineless jellyfish myself. Be a MAN! Don't hide from what is unpleasant. If it's enough to DESTROY your world you must not have had a very high opinion of yourself. Any man that needs another person to be complete was NEVER capable of being a man anyway. As for her, I think her actions speak for themselves. Trust is the main component in any partnership. At the end, when she runs away, their daughter appeared in the doorway, with a questioning look in her eyes. THEN, I wanted top slap his wife too. The child is the only one that's being hurt here. The man and woman are either too selfish or ignorant for me to have any interest in.
