A matter of Italian pride
JordanThomasHall6 April 2017
Ensign O'Toole (Dean Jones) has a hot date while in the port of New York. He stakes Chief Nelson (Jay C. Flippen) to have Seaman Di Julio (Harvey Lembeck) to sign his reenlistment papers. Di Julio is agitated and tells Chief that he's not going to reenlist and has promised his Brooklyn parents that he will take over the family restaurant when his current hitch expired. O'Toole and Chief go with Di Julio to his family's Italian restaurant that evening. Once there the men see that the parents are happy running the restaurant and Di Julio is still happy with the Navy. But, as a matter of pride, Di Julio is reluctant to say anything against his promise. O'Toole tells Papi Di Julio (Romo Vincent) that his son is a very important man on the ship and makes corresponding arrangements aboard when he comes to visit. Different crewmen come to the Di Julio with comical means of importance.
