They did the escape scene in one episode.. full of emotions, actions and reece avoiding killing innocents.. he could have taken the HRT dude when he popped the flash bang, head shot the FBI dude and let the army lady just lie under the dirt and suffocate.. but he did not...

some shows would drag the escape for a couple of episodes with unnecessary back and forth between the characters.. they did it perfectly... I knew obviously he was not going to get caught but I was wondering how he would escape

nicely done.. I was stuck frozen to my screen watching every second of it.. which nowadays is a miracle.. only reacher, the boys caught my attention like that.

Frogman's Luck
lavatch23 July 2022
Warning: Spoilers
As this episode is just past the midpoint of the miniseries, it feels like padding in the narrative design. North of San Francisco on Highway 1, Commander Reece is ambushed by a fleet of squad cars led by the zealous Tony Layun. There is also a hard-nosed army commando named Mac. Tony and Mac both figure prominently in the episode.

The Commander's task as a survivalist to evade the posse as he flees over the mountains seeking safe haven past San Rafael. The arrival of tremendous storm offers the possibility of cover during his flight. Ben and Liz refer to the storm as "Frogman's Luck."

The highlight of the episode was a spectacular mountain slide set off by Reece's explosives. Reece is buried in the dirt, digs himself out, then saves the life of Mac (whom Reece calls "Army") who was also buried. Previously, he had spared the life of Layun by refusing to take a clear shot, then leaving the bullet behind as a memento.

Slowly but surely, Reece is crossing names off his list. Three that remain are Pillar, Cox, and Howard. While flying Reece to safety, Liz reminds him that even if he leaves his enemies in the ground, it still will not bring back Lauren and Lucy.

The First Blood episode

This episode reminded me so much of the Rambo film First Blood - which is a good thing!

Probably the most exciting episode of the show so far. Really enjoying this show. Chris Pratt is crushing this role.

What a story! Twists and turns. Up and down, in and out to the last minute. Outstanding acting by the entire cast. Loved this series! Chris Pratt gave an amazing performance, with all the emotion, confusion, determination of the leading character's tragic life.

Became unrealistic

Warning: Spoilers
I've loved every episode up until this one. I'm all for a navy SEAL turned rogue revenge seeker. Every episode up until now had its unrealistic or far fetched moments, but that's to be expected with action flicks. But hiding under pine needles like Rambo? Then causing a landslide that somehow doesn't kill you? Performing terrible CPR that revives an agent after also being in the same landslide? Got to the point of being too much for me. Still a great show overall, but reminded me too much of an overkill 80s action movie.

Pushed to Violence

Warning: Spoilers
1. Reece runs 2. Reece falls 3. Reece buries

Terminal List gets better when they don't focus on narrative, sadly. That being said, I enjoyed this episode because it was an hour of just pure manhunt and I think they pulled it off somewhat well. I do have some concerns about how incompetent the search team is overall, but this was the one episode I wasn't sure if Reece was going to make it out. Some of those incompetencies include somehow losing Reece when they first surrounded him, not even entertaining the idea of blocking off a nearby airport, and not being aware of the contents of the stolen backpack. These are really terrible mistakes and I am more disappointed by the fact that these ideas are mentioned in the show initially so it just seems like bad writing to not tie them off. On top of that, Reece surviving that explosion is pretty dumb and I think it's implied that there are casualties. But that doesn't make sense as Reece would have been the most damaged one because he was the nearest to the center of explosion. He made it out without much injury, so it should be fair to assume that the agents around him should be in better condition than him. But somehow everyone was stunned and Reece had time to get out. That overall sequence just felt like a joke and Reece has some intense plot armor.

I did love the setting of a national park. It looked like a great spot for manhunt with plenty of room to maneuver around. I also liked that Layun had more screen time because he does have good screen presence.

Overall, an improvement but still some really weird writing moments that make me scratch my head.

filler vs the book with no consistency
grayworker2 July 2022
Warning: Spoilers
Fine, the screenwriters didn't know how to put a good book on tv. But so many wth items, did they work on season 8 of GOT or they have a deal with Pitch Meeting on YouTube? No cop goes to the burning vehicles, they all know to chase the black truck down the street? Shot in the shoulder facing the joint and internal organs? 10-20 eyes on crashed truck but he ninja escapes? Has heat blankets on but takes them off so they can track him? Cell signal vs heat signature, heat one disappears while he buries himself cause they're too busy watch cell phone signal? No heat tracking on top of atoll or the next morning cause- reasons? Terminal velocity hit/fall on the rock below but no death, still has functioning but shot arm? Hallucinations for plot points? Mid-morning after his broad daylight escape the day before, no overhead intel but we're gonna wander around the middle of nowhere cause? You guys threw a good book in the corner just like Max Brook's in 2013.
