A tight little series!

I enjoyed the premise of this 6 part series with twists and turns in every episode. There are so many improbabilities that should have lowered the rating but I still enjoyed a binge watching of the series. A young woman, applying for a job in another city, 6 hours away, has packed enough clothes for weeks: she didn't already have a job, flat or other responsibilities to which she could just drop? She has enough available money to stay in this town, but meals, gas for her car, etc? C'mon..... Also, it shows the murdered mother using a mobile telephone in 1995 small town France? Lastly, the protagonist is getting unexplained, anonymous text messages and they can't determine who sent them - I kept yelling at them to find the IP address- this is not hard. Saying all this, I was intrigued until the very end because I wanted to know who was the murderer. BTW, the scenery of Brittany is gorgeous!

Warning: Spoilers
I never imagined a series could be so perfectly awful as this one. The plot is the most ridiculous at every turn. The dialogue is more wooden than the worst imitations of fake tragedy. The acting is outstandingly terirble in every single case.

Nearly all the action takes place "off camera" so all we watch are people standing around (or sitting having a coffee or a glass of wine) talking to each other.

All the original deaths upon which the events depend turn out to be accidents. Even the rape was "I don't know what happened all of a sudden". None of the plausible suspects are guilty.

French crime thrilelrs are usually rubbish but this one tops them all.

Preposterous Story

Walter Presents. Six part drama. French with English subtitles.

As with many dramas this starts off ok, but it becomes very repetitive. The rhetoric going back to a crime from 25 years previously and it is all very confusing.

The drama is drawn out too long and is at least two episodes too long.

The relationships of some of the characters is bewildering, even though the same ground is covered many times. Also, for some reason, understanding the actual names being used in the dialogue and who is being referred to is often unclear.

The further into the drama the worse it got until it finished with so many convoluted historical events it left me feeling it had been a total waste of time.

When Lola discovers her biological mother was murdered 25 years ago she is plunged into her hidden past she knew nothing about to discover the identity of her father, her mother's murderer, and her own history.

This is a contemporary drama and contains language that some viewers, particularly those of a more mature generation, will find offensive.
