This is an awesome short film, plain and simple. Have seen this at a couple festivals in L.A. and what a crowd pleaser. There is an original rap during the opening and end credits which is hilarious and super fun to listen too. I am looking for the song online right now just so I can listen to some of the lines again. AND, the opening credits are really cool...its as if they were texting in and out of a phone. Immediately grabbed the audience attention and everyone knew the deal. (spolier alert) now the rest of the film is just ballzy. they definitely took a risk with this film-making and I respect it and I cant stop laughing at it. The way the film starts with the opening song/credits is so fun and the pouring of the beer everyone is just so into it and expecting this hip, quick, cool comedy...and then what they get is a guy texting for 5 minutes straight. Over 5 straight minutes of nothing happening but a guy texting in front of his buddy. The audience was surprisingly captivated by it. I mean nothing happens, no camera movements, its just silence and an annoying guy (TIMMY TEXT MESSAGE) texting non stop. no one knew how much longer it was going to go on for. (spolier alert) then when his friend finally cant take it anymore IT IS SO WORTH THE WAIT!! you think because its a short film he might hit Timmy, or throw the beer he's been avoiding all over him, maybe even break a bottle over his head, but no...what you get is one of the most unexpected stunts I have ever seen in a short film. haha, truly hysterical!! Timmy gets thrown full body through an enormous plate glass window violently smashing and scraping the pavement. The audience cheered and then got somewhat uncomfortable at how truthfully painful it looked and felt. This was such a surprisingly big budget stunt for an independent short. When the end credits roll and the original rap starts blasting again people were laughing and cheering hard. I think mainly because they had to endure a single shot of a young man texting for that long, that they wanted to do the same. I give a lot of credit to the filmmakers for making the body of the film the way they did. The payoff was huge. Excellent short. Cant wait to watch it again.
