what a beautiful emotional ep
zombie84-110 March 2022
First up props to whoever does the music for using Giles Lamb dead island theme. One of the most emotional pieces of music created. It fit perfectly in this beautifully done ep.

Loved it! Such a great culmination of the big ice storm! Beautiful sequence in the middle, and finally a happy ending! Not to mention my Tarlos heart is mended !!!

I'm not crying.

You're crying. I would assume these blizzard episodes are a nod to what many people in Texas dealt with when they got snow they didn't expect and therefore were not prepared. I can't say if these episodes have an ounce of accuracy if that's what they were shooting for but it sure is entertaining. I worried Lone Star wouldn't live up to the standard 911 had already set. I was on the fence about Liv Tyler then sad when she didn't return and then on the fence again with the casting change. But it's all still so wonderful. Both respective shows bring their best every week. It's actually mind blowing the way that both shows manage high octane episodes every week. No filler episodes for 6 weeks to finally get a crazy episode. Plus they match that drama with a healthy dose of real life problems and community and it just works. In a world where most productions feel a need to use nefarious storylines, the 911 shows bring wholesome entertainment and I'm here for it. Don't get me wrong, I enjoy my fair share of seedy and shady but it's nice to have things to recommend to my dad or others that want relatively clean entertainment.

Exaggerations to the hugest degree.

Once again another episode of the most unrealistic "blizzard". At first I laughed about it now it's killed this show for me. I can't even pay attention anymore because everytime I do another extremely unrealistic thing is happening. To a previous viewer no there isn't an ounce of accuracy in this show anymore. I write this as it's -26F with the windchill in shorts on my couch. Might drive to the store later and get a pop. Hope my gas doesn't disappear from the snow and I die. *eye roll*

Dumbest episodes so far
cqbrphmv23 January 2024
Warning: Spoilers
I liked Lone star so far, but the first view episodes with this snow storm are the dumbest story lines ever.

Illogical and non sensical in every single way.

Pregnant and in Labor she drives her car, by herself into the freaking snow storm without any thought? Why in gods name would she do that? Yes billy is not the greatest guy etc., but risking her life and her unborn baby, after everything she has been through? Who thought that her character would develop like this?

She has a suited truck available with a CB radio and someone to drive!! But she risks everything driving herself? Why? And then she is stuck in the snow, of course and is cold? She didn't run out of gas! Just let the truck run and the heating. Unbelievable

And it is so cold the water is frozen coming out of The shower head but billy can jump start a RV that's been sitting in the road for days?

I hope this is the last one with this snow storm and they hire some new writers. Pathetic.

Ridiculous storyline
mwascholz5 December 2022
I enjoyed the first two seasons of this show even though it was quite unrealistic to see the complete fire station to attend minor events where in real life, no firemen would attend, let alone with all the trucks.

Also, they hardly ever fight fire.

Slowly towards the end of S2, it becomes obvious that the everyone in the cast will be non-stop involved in huge events that concern them personally.

They are non stop in the hospital, have near death experiences and Austin is hit with literally everything possible in the world: volcanoes, tornadoes, dust storms dumping meters of sand everywhere, arctic storms. In reality, none of this is possible.

At the start of S3 we see Austin experiencing an Arctic chill. Normally, Austin rarely gets temps under 10 degrees Celsius. Does not matter. And then we get 4 episodes of absolute chaos. The cast joins a rollercoaster ride of (personal) disasters that goes all over the place. We were exhausted after the conclusion of episode 4.

The writers need a chill pill and maybe consider not creating more hazardous situations for the cast besides the normal ones they could encounter with them being fire fighters.

One of the main writers is John Owen Lowe.

Yes, the son of. And sorry, he is just not that good.

Someone in Hollywood should tell dad Rob that the endless promoting of your skincare products is just weird and that sorry, your son is not a great writer.
