INTRUSION is a shot-on-video slasher yarn that owes the obvious debt of inspiration to Carpenter's HALLOWEEN. Watching it, I immediately realised that this is a slight cut above your usual zero budget slasher fare, because it has a little atmosphere in places, even a little spookiness.
It's far from a perfect picture but at least it isn't the worst of the worst. The main two characters play a couple of bored ladies (noticeably older than the normal genre standards) who decide to play a game of wrong number, only to attract the attention of a nerdy psycho. The filming style makes this look like a 1990s-era film and there's a little gore and a little action to see you through. The best thing about it is that the psycho has a proper back story for a change.
