I think this is a great film. Is it perfectly executed and perfectly polished? No. However, the performances of the key cast are exquisite, the director's pacing is the perfect build and the script offers a human and much more gentle insight into communities that are often harshly represented in big budget blow up films. The film's themes revolve around loss and the pain of re-evaluating your life when something completely unexpected happens to both you and your community. It's observant of the nuances that effect us all, without focusing on simply the neighborhood where the film takes place. Because of this Falling Away is able to stretch beyond stereotypes and insightfully touch every viewer.
