I was utterly hooked after the opening episode, and Part Two manages to build upon the first, answer some questions but pose new ones.
You would have to ask yourself just what is going on after seeing this, what exactly is Phyllis up to? why's she avoiding Matty? Was she taken against her will? Who's helping him? What does Mrs Cassidy know?
I like the fact that this was split into three hour long parts, and not six half hour instalments as had been the custom, it allows the story and characters to develop so much more. It's no wonder Durbridge's writing gripped audiences for over thirty years, his stories were tantalising, this one certainly was.
Derek Fowlds was excellent in this one, as was Cyril Luckham. I very nearly didn't realise Geoffrey Whitehead was Matty's brother, he's also very good.
Bring on the concluding Part! 9/10
