Another great one
crazelord4 February 2022
Classic south park episode and premise, where they make fun of basically everyone, been awhile since they've done that and not had a specific target or perspective. And it's just as ridiculous and hyperbolic as the show has ever been.

Glad it felt normal but fell flat

Warning: Spoilers
I was glad to see it felt back to regular South Park but still wasn't as many funny parts as you would hope. I want to see the show move away from the covid Satire, the joke was pushed for TOO LONG.

a promising start to the new season

Warning: Spoilers
I really liked this episode i though the music was funny and the constant nazi jokes where absurd. The only thing which i did not think was that good was how obvious the mask allegory was. I see a lot of people mention why they did not just do normal covid but need i remind you in the previous episode every one got vaccinated so covid is not that much of a problem any more in the town of South Park. So yeah i think you should watch this episode.

Very confusing episode
cmmcfreire6 February 2022
This episode left me very confused, the story didn't seem to go anywhere and at the end i felt very underwhelmed.

I'm glad Randy wasn't the focus but I still expected more scenes with Kyle and Kenny.

There were some good scenes but i was expecting the plot to evolve throughout the episode but it didn't, it felt like they repeated the same two jokes the whole episode and it got stale very quickly.

I'm still optimistic for the next episodes of the season though, it is the 25th anniversary after all and I fell like this season should encapsulate all that makes South Park great.

An Okay Epispode
slydude074 February 2022
The analogy of Covid masks to pajamas was obvious, but Trey Parker didn't seem to take a position. He made fun of both sides of the issue as each side called each other Nazis.

The pokes at Matt Damon were funny if you know that Damon recently made an ad promoting Bitcoin.

Mr. Mackey's voice is different.

Old school southpark

Warning: Spoilers
Matt and Trey going after the idiotic mass media and making sure people are wearing pajamas like masks is great. Both sides calling each other nazis was priceless.

Decent Start to the Show's 25th Anniversary Season
SnowThatBlows3 February 2022
Warning: Spoilers
'Pajama Day' is a relatively satisfactory episode with some funny jokes. I don't believe It's one of South Park's best for sure, and there are some aspects of this episode I honestly found weird (Cartman agreeing with Wendy without insulting her/arguing with here, Mr. Mackey's voice, etc).

But it's also far from the worst, with some great moments like the scene where it loops back into PC Principal going back into the classroom after Mr. Garrison gets pissed at Butters and the class or Cartman's nightmare.

All in all, its a decent way to start a new season of South Park that we all needed. I honestly wanna know where they go for this season as for 1 1/2 years this show only focused on COVID and it's impact on the world. I can't wait for the next episode, and the direction this season will go in!

Meh it was okay

This episode was alright but nothing special, a few laughs here and there. I agree with people that said Mr. Mackey's voice was weird. Time to knock the Covid stuff on the head though. Fed up of hearing about the worlds deadliest cold now.

Nobody is ever happy.
jschapp-999424 February 2022
First of all, it was funny. They clearly poked fun at both sides. And if you don't think both sides should be poked fun at, I don't know if you really have been paying attention over the last two years. Very good episode. No one can take a joke. The people that gave it a low score clearly have an agenda. And frankly I'm tired of those people anyway. Great episode. Maybe if you don't find South Park funny, don't watch it. And if you don't, that says a lot about you. Good day.

I'm really confused
treborbasset7 February 2022
Were pyjamas meant to be an allegory for masks? It just didn't really work, did it? It didn't make any sense. I felt so confused with this episode. The plot went nowhere. It had a really long song that wasn't very good and was sung twice.

I honestly don't know what they were thinking here. At first I thought it was a regular episode of South Park like the old days, an apolitical one. But it seemed to be about nothing at all, with the most tenuous link to masks? I'm really trying to work it out, because it wasn't very funny.

Maybe pyjama day is a big deal in the US and I just don't understand the cultural context and I'm trying to read too much into it.

I hope this is just their way of seguing (very badly) from the specials, which I liked, into normal episodes.

BRILLIANT, POIGNANT, SUPERLATIVE, MORE WORDS THAT MEAN COOL...

Warning: Spoilers
A great episode, in the top 20 for satire. The Nazi references had me laughing my butt off...The juxtaposition of the mask against pajamas was so cozy... I see a few people don't really "get it"...Obviously, those people hate pajama day AND opposite day! NAZIS!!!!!

Good to be back
ericstevenson4 February 2022
I thought that there were going to be more specials or movies, but it's just back to normal episodes. This one is about the kids being forced to not wear pajamas when it's Pajama Day. I heard this was a metaphor for covid. Honestly, I don't quite see the connection. Maybe the last movie was just a tough act to follow. This was still quite entertaining.

The jokes did a good thing of building themselves up. I admit I don't know any of the girl characters other than Wendy and Bebe. This show does still have a pretty diverse cast like that! I am really feeling for PC Principal now. Covid is still very much around. The best jokes were in the middle. ***

(generic "Old School South Park" title)
lauchaguti-994615 February 2022
South Park is back and I couldn't be happier. This episode was great, and a promising season premiere. After the specials and Tegridy Farms (which I'm still a fan of) I have to admit it is refreshing to watch a good ol' kids episode in the school. On one hand I'm intrigued to see what's next for the show since I feel they spent the last COVID-jokes bullet on this one, but on the other no other show on earth could have made an episode like this one. Meaning that South Park still got it. Loved the role of Wendy on this one, and some nazi jokes made me laugh out loud. Luckily the fact that they are back is not the only good new about this.

Also: the "Pajama Time" song has been stuck in my head since this episode came out, and its not planning to leave anytime soon... anybody else?

Return with bang
hipitalia5 February 2022
The humor is on point and is running on a very thin line, just like expect from South park. It might be the most socially influential season so far if creators will continue like this.

Bored of the covid jokes
noawareness8 February 2022
I know they're better than this. The covid jokes have run their course. These guys need to go back to using their imaginations instead of just opening the news and basing a story on the first thing they see. A couple of years ago, every joke was about Trump, now it's Covid. Boring.

The boys are back!
iggles366 February 2022
It wasn't the funniest episode. It wasn't the worst. I'm just glad they're back in skoowl, as Cartman says it.

One suggestion, step away from the Covid. I think the world is tired of it.

A great return to the episodic format
alexk-3003610 February 2022
It's became obvious lately that South Park is running out of ideas, and making more episodes with not so subtle commentary.

But I can't say the same about 'pajama day'. The metaphors were brilliant, most of the jokes were spot on, and the musical numbers were catchy.

I highly recommend you watch this episode in contrast to the bleak episodes of season 23.

Great jokes-meh plot
Cartmanology25 May 2022
I am very confused with my thoughts on this episode, the jokes are great the comparing everything to hitler, the Matt Damon jokes and the school shootings ones are classic and the sence with the boys and girls working together was really good. However its plot is undercooked and that annoying ''Pajama Time'' song is annoying, wasting too much at the start with Mr. Garrison relationship annoys me.

But I don't know, I still really like this one!

Pretty bad
gliberglober15 February 2022
Plot was bad, jokes were bad, song was bad and drawn out.

Dissapointing and boring start to this south park season.

The pajamas didnt really work in the same manner as the diaper masks.

Shaking off the rust
hawk-119213 February 2022
All the specials they have been doing recently have been really good, but this might be the worst episode I've seen in a couple seasons. Voices were off, some of the animation choices (especially reactions to punchlines) detracted from the jokes, and what were those godawful song sequences? Also I think Trey and Matt have already bled the COVID topic dry, so it seems really odd to do another episode about it. I suspect its merely a transitional episode back into their regular content the audience is used to. It almost seemed to me like they might be delegating away some of the things they normally do themselves, which is really disappointing. Hopefully things pick up from here.

Boring Plot Meh Jokes
metsflash5 February 2022
Happy it's back to being a procedural but I didn't find the episode funny none of the jokes landed for me. The plot was very basic as well nothing like some of the clever past episodes they have done. I think it did a good job of politically appealing to everyone tho thus the high reviews. Hopefully the season improves as it goes on.

Couldn't finish the season premier. Was a complete snoozefest, hope the writing and quality return to par soon or else I'm finally tuning out South Park for good.

I'm shocked & befuddled...
CensorMeNot4 February 2022
It seems that after 25 years of on-point humor, relevant analogies, and hilarious anecdotes South Park has lost a fundamental ingredient. This episode was just jaw-dropping ridiculous.

With more ammunition than ever before, it seems something significant has happened. The creators (Matt and Trey) may have boarded the woke train of paranoia, they've been threatened by the networks via the US and Canadian governments, they've passed the torch to other employees, or they've completely lost touch of reality and all the things people have found hilarious over the past 25 years.

The true test will be whether or not they create a Joe Bidden or Justin Trudeau character. If they do not, then it's obvious one of my examples above are indeed true.

To sum it up.... Voices were off (Mr. Mackey) The Pajama Day song was awkward and mistimed The script seemed jumbled and forced Very careful to stay within the boundaries Cartman's antagonistic persona has seemly been outlawed.
