A slight improvement over the previous few episodes.

Elliott pushes Blunt into a corner in his search for answers, Philby becomes very quickly aware that his presence in Moscow appears to be tolerated, rather than welcomed, all that seems to be left for him.....is a glass of vodka.

The agonisingly slow pace continues, it really is one of the most frustrating dramas I've watched for some time, considering the cast, budget and source material, they've really managed to make something so interesting, be something pretty dull.

With the greater focus on Philby, and his slightly awkward presence in Moscow, my interest has increased a little bit, interesting to see that it wasn't all smiles and whistles begins The Iron Curtain.

I would have thought that by the conclusion of episode four, that it would have been full of tension and urgency, instead it's amiably ambling on to episode five.

Alex Price has featured, but has he uttered a single word yet, what a waste.

Slightly better, but I'm still needing caffeine to stay focused.

6/10.

The episode is called Vodka as you might need a lot of it to stay awake or stoop to a slumber after it has finished.

Anthony Blunt is feeling the heat as innuendos are made to him being a Russian spy. Nicholas Elliott even giving him a veiled threat in order to make Blunt panic.

The CIA contact Lily, to work with them officially or unofficially. They regard Nick as a weak link. They just cannot overlook his closeness with Kim Philby.

In Russia Philby gives Guy Burgess a punch. He ruined everything by fleeing to the Soviet Union, Burgess placed everyone else at risk.

Philby also finds out that the KGB do things differently as they kill someone who could had been ansset.

The lethargic pace just does not help. The story is not dense or complicated but they just want it to be Le Carre and the material does not justify it.
