Sappy romance in pantomime
lor_21 January 2016
After "couples" films made a splash mid-'70s, the "Romance" craze hit porn again about 6 years ago, with most labels trying to cash in on what proved to be a short-lived phenomenon. "Drenched in Love" is an early entry from Wicked Pictures in their series dubbed "Passions" and the usually reliable director Skye Blue delivers a timid, enervating exercise sans dialog.

Cover girl Diana Doll is the most attractive thing on view, paired in the finale with Carlo Carrera as a guy she picks up at a bar, leaves an assignation note on his napkin and hooks up with him outside for interracial sex by a fountain.

Other segments feature consistently attractive women like Britney Amber, but the vignettes are boring. Several of them repetitiously are staged in front of roaring fireplaces, itself a cliché.

Film reminded me of a similar series of plot less romantic wonders issued a couple years later by Adult Source Media - employing photogenic top talent to smooch and gently make love but amounting to nothing more than wall- to-wall sex, non-gonzo division.
