A rat within the force
jotix10030 November 2011
Warning: Spoilers
A terse action film made for French television. We are taken to a stakeout that goes bad. The criminals the police have tried to surprise knew they were coming. As a result of the gun battle between the two groups one police dies, and another is badly injured. As a result of the shoot out, the higher ups decide a new man should be come to be in charge of the station, so Julien Orteguy, a veteran of the force, is selected. The dead cop's friends are not ready to accept Orteguy.

Julien Orteguy is a man whose marriage is crumbling in front of his eyes. Resentment from Solange, his wife, about the death of their child has built to the point she even refuses to have intercourse with him. Julien determines what went wrong in the stake out was the work of someone among the policemen that told Zoran, the man behind the drugs and prostitution rings there was going to be an attack. Therefore, Julien tries to get involved in order to get to the bottom of the problem. The cops, especially Sarah, regarded him as interloper among the ranks. Julien proves everyone wrong because of his involvement in apprehending a powerful man who thought he was above the law.

An interesting police drama made for French television, shown recently on an international cable channel. This one was directed by David Delrieux, based on a screenplay by Gerard Carre and Jean-Michel Jouanteguy. The action is well staged, resulting in a good television film with the right ingredients of vengeance, sex, and action.

Aurelien Recoing, an excellent character actor is seen as Julien Orteguy, the man that is sent to head the division after they suffer a moral as well as personal loss. Natalia Dontcheva appears as Sarah, the detective with an attitude that finally sees the light.
