How climate warming is changing Glacier National Park indelibly.

This movie is hard to find here on IMDb, I watched it on a DVD that is a National Geographic offering, called simply "Glacier National Park." But it is indeed this same film.

I have a particular attachment to Glacier Park, in 1998 we spent the month of June on Flathead Lake and visited the park, hiking and fishing, on six different occasions. When we first arrived there was maybe 20 feet of snow at the pass and the visitor center, when we were ready to leave all the snow had melted, Glacier Lilies were coming up, and Mountain Goats, adults and young, were everywhere.

This 50 minute film took me to all the places I had not visited. Many were only accessible by a multi-day hike. Climate is warming, certain animal and plant species are changing, not all might survive. Those who study such things predict all the glaciers will disappear by 2030, without glacier melt streams will dry up and forever change the landscape.

This is a great documentary film for those interested in such things. It avoids the politics, it simply presents the facts and what researchers are doing to see what might be done to help certain species survive in a warmer Glacier Park.
