I Watched More Than 10 Minutes...
nammage20 January 2016
Warning: Spoilers
It opens up with a dog who can talk. No lips moving or animation but apparently it's in narration without the narration. Then it opens up with an okay song sung by Amanda Stansky called "Just Me". Then there's a car ride to what appears to be a wealthy (but not too wealthy) neighborhood. There's dialog between a father and daughter but it's innocuous. The girl goes to her new school and right off the bat kids make fun of her, calling her "cowgirl" and a teacher berates her for being late. Sounds like a fun school.

The dog comes back to narrate, quite uneventful, it lasts about a second. Really, I have no idea why the dog is narrating.

Next day at school they have two girls walking down the hall with all the boys staring, in slow motion. It was hilarious. It's a family film and they're not dressed "sexy" for that scene to work like that but just wearing regular clothes. I think the moral of that scene is: cowgirls are not sexy. I live in the South and trust me: they are; even to those not from the South so I don't really understand that whole bit. I mean, it's like she's only worth something if she's not herself. I thought this was a family film?

There's a whole bunch of girls chasing boys and boys chasing girls (but not in the way you're probably would think on the latter), then the dog comes back to narrate about food he eats or ate, and then a whole bunch of nothing.

They try to have intense scenes but fail miserably at it. Like, the two girls try to find this older guy named "Scott" who the cowgirl's cousin likes, and they want his friend to build a go-cart for them so they can get back at this bully at school. The music is that intense music in that scene but there's nothing intense about it as hard as they try - - and why? Because it's a family film.

They keep having these scenes where they try to add "sexy" or "scary" parts to it but none of it is. Not in the least.

The video quality is subpar but not bad. The acting is below average, as is the script and direction. The music isn't half bad even if stupidly used in certain parts, especially when they're trying to be more than what they are.

Nothing really original, and the whole dog narration (in intercuts) is so stupid they should've just left it out.

Overall maybe a high 4/10.

Bad movie! Just poorly done, period.

Disclaimer: I saw about 10 minutes of this movie.

Okay, a movie about go-kart racing, and I'm a huge racing fan--it's got to be good! Except... first, when I turn it on, there are 2-stroke carts racing. But the soundtrack is some kind of low rpm 4-stroke, sounds more like a water pump engine chugging away. Maybe a farm tractor at almost constant rpm. Every now and then you can hear an actual kart engine in the background that I guess they forgot to cut out or something. It's horrible. Then there's the end of the race. Someone wins (hope that's not considered a spoiler), but it's completely unclear who wins from the camera work.

Next, some horrible dialogue and someone punches someone else and starry-eyed girl... Okay, I can't write anymore. I have seen MUCH better high school plays. This was a horribly done movie, and I am absolutely positive of that in only seeing 10 minutes.
