Little Jack
mradarley-476616 April 2022
Wow, isnt little jack a terrific little actor? I hope he goes on to big things after the show ends.

I have to say as this show draws to an end my sympathy for characters is at an all time low. I've nothing left for Kate and Kevin, they are both so self involved it makes me wonder why they didn't ask the question of the writers. 'People arent going to like us' In fact in terms of the present day characters I find myself drawn more to the non members of the Pearson clan. Miguel, Maddy and Toby and Beth is by far my fave character! It's still a great show and I shall miss it but all good things come to an end.

Team Toby...Kate is just.....uugghh
marymcfarland-018667 April 2022
I so enjoyed this episode. It delivered on so many levels. Baby Jack with all his cuteness, Beth being her super chill self as always, Rebecca being full Grandma...just loved it.

But I need Kate and Kevin to grow up. Hate me all you want. I have never liked Kate at any age, and Kevin is the guy I would avoid at all costs. Those 2 need to get a grip. Toby totally has all of the valid points in his interactions with both of these spoiled siblings. Team Toby all the way.

I just want to protect baby Jack :(

Warning: Spoilers
This episode is so painful to watch, especially for parents. Your son wandering the streets, while you're panicking, searching for him everywhere is every parent worst nightmare, especially if he/she is visually impaired.

I would love people to appreciate three persons in this episode: 1) baby Jack, for being absolutely the best kid actor I've seen so far. I just wanted him to be protected at all costs :( 2) Rebecca, for being the anchor of it all and saving the situation, even though she's suffering from memory loss every now and then and felt that she'd be useless to her kids. She just ran there, like the superhero she is, and save Jack. I love love love this moment. Just to prove that both Rebecca and Mandy Moore deserves all the love in the whole world, and I will protest if they didn't give her an Emmy.

3) our precious Beth for being the most unbothered and funny character in this show. I love her!!

P. S. I am not taking sides in this Katoby fiasco, because, in all honesty, I can understand both their situation, which reflects the brilliance of this show.

Team Toby!

Warning: Spoilers
I'm completely with Toby on this one, who in their right mind shows a toddler ANY toddler how to open the front door?! Yes he owned up to not hearing the gate close to little Jacks room, he took responsibility for it! Little Jack is just the cutest little boy ever! Grandma Rebecca coming to the rescue and realising exactly where Jack had gone! Totally heartbreaking when he said the park was the only place his mum and dad were happy together and seeing the world through his eyes!

Team Toby!!!

Warning: Spoilers
I feel so bad for Toby, he's trying! And Kate is so ughhhh! And Kevin constantly coming to her defense...WHEN SHE'S WRONG! It's nice that he defends her as a brother should do but when the person is wrong...it's not cool and quite unfair. I'm not sure what will happen between Toby and Kate but I think I have an idea based on the last episode of Season 5, when the English guy that Kate works with called Kevin brother in law. And there was another episode in either Season 3 or 4 where they fast forwarded to the future, and everyone met up at the house Kevin was going to build for Rebecca, and Rebecca was in bed, fully old and with complete dementia, and in one scene Toby was in his bed looking depressed before he went to go join everyone at the house. This made me think they may not stay together. I hope that in the very end, even if Kate and Toby don't end up together that the writers create some kind of happy ending for Toby. Maybe he went to a bar to have a few drinks while being very sad and happen to meet a very pretty stranger and they get to talking. Idk SOMETHING!! Don't leave Toby hanging.

Oh baby Jack
susanneburns6614 April 2022
Loved this episode and the child actor who plays baby Jack is just the cutest, sweetest little boy ever. He is utterly adorable.

The realistic break down of a marriage.

Sad times ahead for the next episode....but hopefully more baby Jack!

BABY JACK
dolphiea8 April 2022
Baby Jack is ridiculously adorable, precocious...what a fun little person to spend time with. Yes Kate and Kevin are self absorbed....we were presented with that from day one. The big three protecting each other, awesome, maybe not... At some point we all need to put the family we create with our partner ahead of our parents family with their kids. Randall was always the responsible and devoted son. Rebecca (the perfect mom) deserved at least one of the "triplets" to give her unconditional love and protection. She saved the day and the baby, maybe for last time considering her declining health . Love Beth. She has the best lines, and does them so well.

Team Toby.

I want to give the episode a higher score but I hate what the writers are doing with Toby. Kate is plain wrong. Always the victim. Always blaming Toby. Never owning up to her own mistakes. Absolutely despise her.

Painful to watch
ari_nelson6 April 2022
Warning: Spoilers
I wasn't sure how to rate this episode as the dynamics between Kate and Toby are both painful to watch and also portrayed so realistically. But what effected me most was seeing the hardships through little Jack's point of view. As a mother to a little one about his age, it absolutely tore my heart up to find out Little Jack went to the park because that was the only place both his parents were happy together. I'm still having a hard time not crying. I don't want to go on a big rant here, but I'm hoping the writers have a plan for Katoby, because they were one of my favorite couples in the beginning and watching their marriage crash and burn doesn't give me much hope. Also, I am over seeing Toby made out as a villain and Kate the victim. Again, painful to watch, but well acted and very REAL feeling.

And the award for Acting-Like-A-Victim Actor goes to...
maketomusic6 April 2022
Warning: Spoilers
...You guessed it, Kate.. Why do the writers of this show feel like they Have to make her character so weak and pathetic?

The episode itself were great, and i would rate it a 9 if it weren't for Kate.

The writing itself is also weak, like when she and Toby had the big fight outside their home. She act as if the gate to Jacks room MUST be closed but then she argued with Toby that Jack MUST learn to be independent RIGHT NOW. Toby actually owns up to his mistake EVERY single time, and even if Kate makes more mistakes than Toby she NEVER owns up to them. She only want to be the victim in every scenario.

The writers need to either do better at their writing, Or they need to write Kate out of the whole show because this is just sad..

Confused
daracdh16 April 2022
Kate refers to her 70 year old mother on what is supposed to be the 10th anniversary for Rebecca and Miguel. So they didn't marry until she was 60?? If that is the case, Kevin's occasional hostility toward Miguel makes even less sense because Rebecca would have been unmarried for at least 15 years after Jack's death. It seems as if somebody dropped the continuity ball.
