WORST. THOMAS. EPISODE. EVER.
ho-970496 December 2021
I can't believe that Flynn was more idiotic that Thomas from Wonky Whistle. Flynn was so out of character on this one, like really so out of character.

Compared to them, Thomas was mishearing the humans and Bertie and thought that they were saying hello even though they aren't, and also by the fact that he left at the moment where the workmen were about to fix his whistle, showing how impatient he is, but nevertheless, Thomas does redeem himself after causing a mistake.

For Flynn, he is supposed to be a good firefighter, yet in this episode, he was the complete opposite. He irresponsibly decided to show the Diesels that he is busy, even though he is always busy. Just because someone teases you for not doing stuff doesn't mean you have to do it right away.

Also not to mention that he didn't listen to Rocky, and he wasted all of his water, so he couldn't save Thomas. Boo-hoo.

Also, the most infamous thing is that the Narrator said "His firebox was on fire!". What's the point? Fireboxes do have fire in them, so it is not dangerous at all and what the Narrator said was nonsensical.

But there are some good things in the episode, like The Fat Controller yelling "BUT I'M WET THROUGH!!!", that was so damn funny. Everyone else besides Flynn and the Diesels are all good characters, and as always, the ending is good.

So I have to say that in my point of view, this episode is like the worst one for me, more worse than Wonky Whistle.

"His firebox was on fire!"

Warning: Spoilers
Here we go!

The episode's main problem is that it simply insults the intelligence of firefighters in a horrible way. How the episode portrays firefighters as incompetent idiots for a character is neither funny nor fitting.

And us thinking the CGI Fireman Sam is bad.

Flynn is just as dumb, if not dumber than Thomas in the episode "Wonky Whistle", which is saying a lot.

It makes Patrick Star look like Albert Einstein in comparison, as he can't even tell if an engine is on fire or not.

Three sentences: "You're not on fire?" "All the engines like to be really helpful, as well as really useful" "But I'm wet through!".

But without a doubt, the most infamous line of the episode was: The blue engine was Thomas. "His firebox was on fire!" OF COURSE IT'S ON FIRE! THEREFORE THE NAME! IF A FIREBOX IS NOT ON FIRE, HOW WILL A STEAM ENGINE WORK, DEAR NARRATOR?

What is Sharon Miller's problem?

Now, I'm not saying Sharon is a horrible person, or accident-prone and clumsy, she's a great voice director, just not very good at writing.

Ended worst season with worst episode (tied with "Wonky Whistle") I'm already tired of typing, but I can tell you there are continuity errors and five plot holes: How does Rocky know that Thomas is on fire if the alarm just rang? We don't see anybody tell Rocky the emergency. The same thing happens when one of Mavis' trucks catches fire.

While Thomas is burning, Flynn tells the diesels to use buckets of water to turn off the fire, why didn't the drivers do that in the first place?

How did Thomas' firebox explode in the first place?

On the same scene, the diesels get the credit while it was the drivers who turned off Thomas' fire.

What was even the point of Thomas and Flynn thanking the diesels and not the diesel's drivers? The drivers did all the work, not the diesels!
