Warning: Spoilers
Ted Lasso may not be as good as it once was or as bad as people like me try to say it is, but the scenes with Keeley are just so brutal. She has become so unlikable since having all this success and creating a love square with Jodi Balfour, Jamie and Roy is not the kind of thing that is going to entertain the soccer fans that watch this show.

Now, Manchester City destroying AFC Richmond is the kind of thing that will entertain soccer fans who watch this show. At least they presented that realistic element, although I still worry they may have Richmond beat them once before the show does wrap, either this season or next.

A change is coming...
rochellescarter12 April 2023
Warning: Spoilers
All major relationships seem as though they are going through transitions in this episode; probably one of the most melancholy of the series. It has been one of the least satisfying as well as it feels like Rebecca is trying so hard to prove the psychic wrong, the team can't catch a break, and Ted still suffers alone behind his grand speeches infused with inspiration and belief in one's fellow teammates. Sadly, even the "new" relationships igniting in this episode feel forced and cliché and those that didn't survive weren't ever worthy of the magic this show has created on screen. Here's hoping things pick up, straighten out, and rise to the expectations of the global fan base.. some biscuits just get salt mistaken for sugar... looking forward to next week's batch of sweetness and satisfaction.

Subdued episode
ossie8513 April 2023
This episod boasts some great character development and some good moments, but unfortunately, the episode felt largely unfocused.

As always, Ted Lasso (played perfectly again by Jason Sudeikis) delivers some uplifting and insightful advice, this time to his struggling team. Keeley, Rebecca and Nate all had some focus, and I like Keeley's journey but can't get much sympathy for Nate just yet.

However, the episode struggled to find a cohesive storyline, bouncing from one storyline to another, and made the episode lose some focus and I felt a little impatient.

Ted bought it all together in the end though, which was good, because he started being active. I hope the show reaches its peaks again.

We see signs that the writers have run out of ideas
Kevin-4214 April 2023
Warning: Spoilers
The first two seasons of Ted Lasso felt very organic. Ted Lasso was a counterpoint to the idea that you have to be ruthless and mean in order to achieve something in life. You can actually get somewhere with kindness and positive reinforcement and if you work on the good sides of your personality you can overcome your limits and the demons of your past.

I see very little of that message in Season 3 and only traces of it in this episode. It's almost like the new story arc was constructed rather than inspired. Many important side characters have been delegated to punch lines or placeholders for dialogue. Coach Beard is the perfect example as there is no personal development for him even though his team is in crisis. Roy Kent is a no-show. The other players are completely sidelined in favor of Zava who then gets unceremoniously dumped from the series.

Then there is the Keeley and Jack "thing" which comes out of nowhere and feels really contrived and not true to Keeley's character.

Ah yes, Nate is still in the show but he's a plot device to transport the message that rich and successful people are just shallow and superficial.

The bright spot in this episode is Rebecca Welton. You can really empathize with her hope for a different future. Unfortunately, she shows poor leadership skills which somewhat diminishes her image from previous seasons.

I don't know where they're going with this episode and I have a nagging feeling that neither do the writers.

Trying to pull the wool with a lamb skit
xmasdaybaby196621 June 2023
Each series has had the odd disappointing story and this seems to be the first of the third series.

The stories are now longer but the quality does seem to be dropping.

When you have to resort to thd supporting actress wearing a low cut top to keep the viewer occupied (plus a joke about lamb droppings) then the show should know it has problems.

In these days of woke, it is surprising the viewer has had to wait until now for the first lesbian kiss.

On thd upside, Rebecca's contract with Christian Louboutin continues and wears white stilettos like Scotsdee often wears on her twitter page (but a lot less clothing).

Time for a rethink as the show seems to be losing it's way.

Hannah rules!
wroth-2330713 April 2023
I enjoy just about every storyline and character in Ted Lasso. But this episode just stands out for the amazing Hannah Waddingham. In the midst of wonderful characters and hilarious comedy, Rebecca continually stands out as as the character who I care the most about. The writing is spot on, but Hannah's acting is just incredible. Her ability to show Rebecca's insecurity and and hurt, her trying to do every right, in the course of actually doing the right things... is just a wonderfully understated but highly powerhouse performance. Easy to see why she is garnering awards and accolades.

Really look forward to Rebecca's success!

Take a Breath
Hitchcoc10 March 2024
The price we pay for watching a series from beginning to end is that it is impossible to sustain excellence every single week. Sometimes there will be an occasionally downer. So what happens. One missed beat an all the rats leave. The comments about a weak offering are abusive and accusatory, as if the writers owed something to the viewers. Yes, this episode is about a team in disarray, losing matches after starting off so well. So Zava is not the total solution. He moved into a decently working group and took all the focus. It became Zava--not Richmond. Oh, another thing. This show is not realistic--it never was. The characters are fun and put into unique situations. Someone like Ted would never get this job in the real world. But his bromides, his "aw shucksiness," and his whole being are fun, and that's the key word. I think the key here is that there has to be some spark that is there that needs to start up. Ted's little lectures just won't cut it any more, even if they are filled with truth.

That was as hard as I've ever laughed
cjtycdvxf14 April 2023
I see some negative reviews. Stuff like...They've lost the plot. They've run out of ideas. The show is unfocused. What is it even about?

Guys. Guys. You are not wrong. I kinda of thought to myself, "is this the new Seinfeld, a show about nothing!" Then, I remembered. It. Is. A. Comedy. We are seriously going to analyze plot lines. Come on. I still care about the characters. That's all that matters. Maybe some of the reviewers are really worried about the characters, not the plot line. Maybe it seems chaotic not because it is but because they are. I donno. Laughed really hard. And I thought the acting was really good. Really good. Top notch episode. No complaints here.

Amazing episode!
hcstqjj14 April 2023
Warning: Spoilers
Rebecca's storyline is amazing, it's delightful to see Hannah acting! Since Rupert told her he'd have a baby we know how this is important to her!

Keeley screaming bi right! Finally she's dipping her toe back in the lady pool again!

The hallway scene between Ted and Rebecca? Genius!! They're finally finding out what they really mean to each other!

Nate being soft with the waitress might help through his redemption arc, that's interesting!

And Ted learning how to deal w a panic attack by his own! So proud!

So good that it shows he can be a present father for his son even far away

Very good episode, once again!

Have not laughed so hard at a show in ages
Cochise333313 April 2023
I didn't even finish the episode before wanting to leave a review. Only 12 minutes in and I have laughed so much. This episode has been delightful and witty. The characters continue to emulate fun positivity and humor within the story arcs. Ted Lasso is a series unlike any other, especially in these modern times. I was skeptical when they brought in the character Zava because I thought it would be another Jamie (season one) situation, but he continues to be a ray of sunshine and the interactions between him and the players are continuously (unbelievably) wholesome. If only all sports shows could change up the status quo, but one can only wish.

Really don't understand this episode..
benrobson-8388513 April 2023
Warning: Spoilers
Really not sure about this episode, and in particular the direction they're heading in this series. It seems the major plot and storyline has just been forgotten somewhat, with no continuity and things not being resolved well. Meanwhile, the minor sub-plots have virtually taken over the entire series. Like why spend so long building Roy and Keeley to just completely forget about it this season? And the nate date scene? It just seemed like a filler episode where nothing really happened, and the focus on storylines that are not as relevant and interesting as the main plot (of which they've pretty much forgotten about) is really disappointing. Ted's amazing speech at the end is what saves this episode from being rated even lower.

Hope it goes back to how it was
prnrywcj15 April 2023
Warning: Spoilers
With exception to the beard episode, this was probably the next worst of the entire series. Why? Ted Lasso is starting to feel like a side character. It feels a long way from the dart scene Ted or his interview with Trent Crimm. I suppose the show isn't inspiring the same level of hope and optimism it once did, and Ted's presence, or lack thereof as the figure to guide you through it is one of the main causes. But there were other elements of the episode that just felt off. Higgins suggesting they fire Ted? The entire Keely plot line? This show was great because it made you feel good- this episode just kind of makes you feel sad. I get the issues the show is tackling, but in addressing them has brought the optimistic hopeful messaging which made the show popular out of the picture, and brought us more towards our unpleasant realities. I'm still going to watch the rest, but in a way, it made me hope this would definitely be the last season, because if the show continues as this, I would much rather have it just end than become a parody of itself.

Ugh

Warning: Spoilers
I was the biggest Ted lasso fan! And I've been trying to hang in there this season, but episode 5 is not getting any better - so much so I've run to my phone to write a review. Is it the pressure on the last season??? I mean...wtf? It's actually not just not good, it's bordering on bad. Silly story lines and also stuff that makes no sense, it doesn't even track. They delayed the season "to make it great" and I know that's code for "we've got problems". And they do and they didn't fix them.

Who cares at all about that silly drama with keeli's friend at the PR firm (what was that about), and about Ted's kid being in a fight, and it Also makes zero sense that Zaba won every match without anyone else, even kicking the ball from center court in to the goal, and now They can't win anything??? Why?! And zaba just quit, so what was all that about? Let me guess, the payoff is that they now come together as a tw and win. Not sure I even care. As I type Ted ia now giving his believe speech and its Kind of tired to be honest. And of Course Keeli is going to have an affair with her boss, Jack (which is stupid), (also did they change costumers?) and it's Just like who cares? Why break up keeli and Roy?! How will that pay off? And of course Rebecca is going to end up getting pregnant now that's she thinks she cant. Nate will end up finding himself and reconciling.

Ted is just also no longer charming, he just seems like a wet noodle and even Worse, he has learned zero about soccer. He seems to not care AT ALL ABOUT HIS JOB. Which is lame. So he's also not appearing like the brightest bulb.

This show is a snake eating it's own tail.

You know it's bad when one starts rooting for Ted to be fired. Rebecca should! She actually has to and he Ted wants to go home to his kid anyway. Go home then!

Lord it's a tad painful.

Season 3 is terrible!!!
gbrezina201514 April 2023
Warning: Spoilers
What a huge departure from seasons 1 & 2. Everything is puposeless. There are very few connections between the plots of the first two seasons and the plots, storylines, or characters in season 3. Wow have they lost their way. Every newly introduced character has been a waste of time and energy; Shandy is a disgusting idiot failure. Zava, there big savior was a waste of energy for the team and the audience, for that matter. I could not be more disappointed. Ted is USELESS! No wonder they're considering firing him, I would too. He's feckless. There is no purpose at all. Richmond isn't redeeming itself, Rupurt isn't getting his comeuppance, nothing of significance is happening with the team, the characters, even Rebecca's psychic visit is useless and purposeless. Jade, the worlds worst hostess has a moment of compassion for Nate and has dinner with him. What?! Why on Earth! Keeley's big new opportunity is nothing. There's nothing there, all we know is that Keeley's so busy she schedules time on her calendar to cry. Nothing is leading anywhere on the show. I am so annoyed. I have never experience a shows utter demise like this before. Especially a show that was so well received out of the gate.

Oh give me a break
sugardattie27 April 2023
Warning: Spoilers
I am absolutely loving the gay player that is in the closet plot line. But as soon as they announced that Jodi Balfour was going to be cast, I suspected they were going to do something very pedestrian with her character like say, have her hook up with Rebecca or Keely. Sure enough! Even my dog saw that coming. I don't get how 2 women drinking turns into a make out session in so many shows? Is it a bunch of fraternity brothers in the writing rooms? This has NEVER happened to me or any of my friends. Unless they are BOTH gay. I had no idea Keely was bi or gay? I'm sorry but this storyline is absolutely bonkers to me.

What has happened to this show?
chris_rowe-881-16882014 April 2023
I'd argue for a time this was the best comedy going on tv, it had depth, varied characters who got development and character arcs and really built a group up even though the name would indicate it's all about Ted.

This series has been flat, storylines are a mixed bag and established characters have been destroyed or sidelined, I get football isn't the main focus but putting it on some of the stuff you've chosen to was poor. Shandy was a ridiculous inclusion, I really don't enjoy stupid people and ignoring the fact they'd never really fit in to the situation you're portraying it was just lazy and tacky. Proven by the fact she's gone.

Roy is stripped back, the journalist too involved and has zero presence, beard I find too sidelined at this point, I get his character but the aloof hiding away kinda stuff just doesn't feel right when the clubs struggling. Tonally they've got alot wrong here, the Ibrahimovic rip off guy was ok but but too cartoonish for me, this show was once so well written, this series just feels like a generic, lazy poorly written comedy.

I think the gay player storyline is a good choice and relevant and important so hope that's executed well however keely? I loved her character but being gay or bi isn't s choice, you don't just get drunk and change, it was cheap and really poor character work. She's shown no signs really of struggling but randomly just says she's miserable and turns gay, very poor again. The sheep thing was stupid to.

I can't get over how little I liked this episode, every other bar one which I gave a 6, always gets 9 or 10/10 the only thing holding this show up is Hannah as Rebecca, even Ted feels stale and unimportant, was hoping this was going to be a long show but it already feels like it's dying, players lost identities and are parodies, they're just background, all the intricate detailed writing has gone!

Also I'd put nick as Nathan as one of the worst casting decisions of all time, he's rotten in central intelligence but he wrote that and obviously thinks he's an actor but he's so bad in this, aesthetically ridiculous, has no presence and he'd be eaten alive by players, plus that hair and voice were so stupid, just don't get why you couldn't have gotten a proper actor or comedian, terrible.

Same with the Rupert rivalry, he feels unimportant, the waitress stuff was cute but again just unrealistic, same as the date, it's gone from a masterpiece to a piece of that lamb.

I'll see out this series but unless the people I enjoy and care about become important and real again then this will be it for me, this season has been slow, cheap, tacky and lazy. Plus teds son was an awful cast to.

How is it even possible
kattroitsk16 April 2023
Warning: Spoilers
I loved this show. I really did. I know it is focused not on football at all. It's a story about personal struggles, it's about finding your own way, your true self and accepting your own insecurities. It's about fathers and sons/daughters and relationship challenges. I get that. But how about professional growth as well? I see that it works for everyone except Ted, but it's getting ridiculous that after two whole seasons in Premier league football club he didn't bother to learn anything about this sport and and all he does is throwing occasional inspirational speeches at the team. I just don't buy it. I get it's a show and exaggeration is in place, but it's not even funny any more, it's a mockery. I do not believe in this show anymore.

Show has really gone off the rails.
blackstars-731827 May 2023
Warning: Spoilers
Used to be an amazing show.

Now it's just like every other crappy generic show on TV. It used to be funny, warm hearted, and uplifting.

It's just a regular crap show now with nothing but unnecessary drama.

None of the stories are fun and interesting.

There's no logic in any of it.

Breaking up Roy and Keeley was a huge mistake. There's nothing that suggested Keeley was bi or into women, Ted moping over his divorce is boring, Nate became so unlikeable that you have zero reason to root for him. It's like every aspect of this show has become about beating down the characters and making everyone's life sad and miserable.

Whoever planned this season really lost it.

Disjointed
Imshortok0617 April 2023
Warning: Spoilers
I love this show. Season 1 and 2 were brilliant. And although it definitely leans a certain way politically, I try to ignore that and just enjoy the good storytelling. However, this episode proves that season 3 is very muddled and a little disjointed. Character development seems to have been forgotten, as new characters are introduced with little to no purpose. Jack, the female boss, Zava, and Shandy (or whatever the name is) have no likeability or even personality. I get that they are all antagonists to specific characters (Zava to Jamie, Shandy to Keely, and Jack to Roy/Rebecca)....however, their purpose seems haphazard and disingenuous. How could Zava be so talented if the team loses three games in a row? Why is Keely friends with a narcissist like Shandy? And since when is Keely interested in girls? A layered character is always welcome, but this character trait seemed to come out of nowhere. And the plot with Ted's son being the bully seemed to resolve almost immediately. I just hope that the disparate parts eventually come together and recreate the magic this show used to have.

The emperor isn't wearing any clothes
galston7315 April 2023
This show is in free fall. I'm actually starting to wonder if it's always been garbage, or whether it's just become that way. Was I previously part of some mass hypnosis thinking this was heartwarming and funny? Probably not, but it's now turgid, thin, plotless rubbish. There's also something deeply unpleasant about it, as it now seems to just rely on swearing for laughs. Not funny and definitely not heartwarming.

Nate's storyline trajectory doesn't ring true, Ted and his sidekick are just annoying yanks now as the homespun philosophy wears thin and Ted has strangely still learnt nothing about football. This has to be the last season. It's thin gruel. It needs to end.

Signs of disappointment...
baderammory13 April 2023
Warning: Spoilers
This show has been my companion in one of my darkest periods. It never seemed to stop making me feel better. Everything about it used to be just perfection... yet I have been very much disappointed with the last couple of episodes. Ted is being marginlaized as a side character to show some love storeis that are totally expected. Adding Zava to the mix was good yet the team got as marginlaized as Ted. Nick's love story is good yet it is too early before seeing his redemption, which I believe is imminent. I used to describe this show to everyone as a chicken soup for the soul. Hopefully, the rest of the episodes would live up to that description.

Can't understand it
ahmedeldeeb3 September 2023
Warning: Spoilers
Characters lost depth, no longer a Ted show but everyone else's. Why is it rated 12 while it has all that sexual stuff in it?

Ted's call with Michelle, how not showing her face? I'd say the scene should've had much more importance as it is a struggle of the main character.

Why all the sexuality stuff popping up everywhere? How justifying just turning Keeley to gay?

Players, especially Rojas, are turned to shallow characters. Zava's introduction then sudden disappearance! Roy's less and less lines and the shallow conversations he makes. Where is all the building of the psychologist?

No development has been done to Leslie although we started to see him as an integral character but now he's just to fill lines.
