Perfunctory, enervating all-Black, all-sex effort by Brad
lor_30 August 2018
Another chink in the armor of Brad Amstrong, certainly the Adult industry's most laureled filmmaker (much of it unearned honors upon closer inspection), this entry in Wicked Pictures' Passion series is embarrassingly poor. Brad has a dozen African-American players on the payroll, and merely poses them, has condoms applied, and has them assume the usual positions for six money shots, and nothing more.

My description makes the DVD sound like hackwork, which it is, merely gussied up with attractive if hardly expansive settings for sex, the work of a craftsman like Brad who doubles as art director. No dialog, no characters, and the male performers particularly mechanical in not relating to their female partners other than penetrating them to earn a paycheck. Some of the gals fake-emote, particularly then-star Misty Stone with trite pornspeak and oohs and ahhs, but the results are closer to video wallpaper than a feature film.

I recall when all-Black casts were first in flower, circa 1984 at the outset of the video replacing 35mm revolution in Adult Cinema. The likes of Tony El-ay, Jeannie Pepper, Field Marshal Bradley and Sahara made a series of delightfully naive story films, any one of which is far superior to Brad's too-frequent recent exploitation of the all-Black format.

Unexplained (Brad neglected to include his usual self-serving BTS short subject this time on the DVD) is why a sixth vignette starring actress Rane Revere with Nat Turnher is shown as a Bonus Deleted Scene not included in the main feature proper. They play a couple clad in similar football jerseys, which Rane removes to tempt her man away from his sports on TV watching addiction. Content is at the same quality level as the rest of the show, and deleting it for reasons of time constraints is absurd, given that the five segments actually included run a mere 85 minutes without it.
