Mediocre Alektra Blue vehicle wastes OK premise

Warning: Spoilers
Barrett Blade is still batting .000 for me, as "Mesmerized" makes a baker's dozen in a row of underwhelming videos of his I've watched recently. Wicked's contract star at that time Alektra Blue is ill-served by the actor turned director.

Title implies hypnotism, but that primary gimmick is not unveiled until the final reels. Until then, we're presented with a stillborn rom-com involving nerdy (or just simple-minded/slow, like he usually plays it) Danny Wylde, who's been best friends with the stunning Alektra for a decade, but you know, she sees him as a dependable dishrag rather than potential boyfriend (or even one-night-stand).

Early segments of the film paint her as unsympathetic and have us identifying with poor Danny, but Scott Fayner's script is lacking in interesting situations to generate much interest (relying strictly on sex scenes, as per usual). Opening porn has morning after sex between Alektra and Charles Dera, condom in hand, followed by neighbor Eric Masterson humping his wife's young, nubile sister Kiera King to basically provide some jail-bait (knee sox & all) content for the video.

Masterson is in charge of comic relief throughout the show, but his non sequiturs are merely stupid rather than funny, which Blade chooses to immortalize during the end credits with a dozen or so of Eric's witticisms that hit the cutting room floor.

Wylde goes to his shrink, Nikki Daniels, who happens to be Eric's wife. Meanwhile Alektra has a three-way with another lover, the inevitable Tommy Gunn, and busty Briana Blair, if you'll pardon my alliteration.

Nikki decides the solution to patient Danny's dilemma is to consult with pop psychologist Wendy Divine, who has a popular TV show. She hypnotizes Alektra with a crystal ball (props department not on the ball, mixing genres a bit) to make her love Danny, but before the wisp of a plot device can be consummated, another neighbor Mika (a ringer, played by ultra- busty/beautiful Britney Amber) suddenly decides to hump Danny seconds after meeting him in the kitchen at a party at Eric & Nikki's house.

BIG SPOILER:

Finale rather abruptly ties up loose plot ends by ludicrously having Danny suddenly, out of the blue, decide that Alektra is "a bad person" and not wanting to have anything to do with her. Too late, since she's already been hypnotized, so Nikki & Wendy decide the only solution is to hypnotize Danny into loving Alektra, sort of a two deus ex machinas make a right. Cue the long-awaited Alektra/Wylde hump and fadeout.

So much is wrong with this result that I bet even Katherine Heigl would have turned this script down. Once again, it takes more than just a germ of an idea to make a feature film -further evidence of why gonzo has so massively replaced storyline cinema in the Adult marketplace -you don't need any ideas whatsoever to produce what passes for gonzo XXX entertainment.
