Laughs fall flat in timid ripoff
lor_26 July 2017
Parody = Rip-off is the key to Jim Powers' lame imitation of the mainstream hit comedy. Casting is weak, and just copying the vulgarity of the original, with tedious XXX content inserted, doesn't play.

Lexi Swallow, who plays it soft until the finale when she finally puts out with typecast cop Steve Crest/Jack Lawrence (the once and future porno cop), is a bore in the lead role as maid of honor to same-type (big-fake-bust blonde) Sarah Vandella. Other bridesmaids are Lexi's nemesis Katie St. Ives, doing a poor job as the condescending rich wife whose palatial mansion is the movie's mains set, plus Kagney Linn Carter, breast in show and constantly complaining nastily about her step-kids, lesbian April O'Neil, wasted completely in a nothing assignment and the totally unappealing Sasha Knox as the potty mouth in the already vulgar group. No writing credit for Knox's tiresome dialog, and I thought at first that she represented trick casting of a dwarf actress, but turned out to be just an ugly duckling.

Similarly tiresome is Anthony Rosano as a cad who takes advantage of both Lexi and philandering wife Katie, leading to the show's only conflict as the two friends of the bride spar. Lots of extras mill about, and tokenism is alive and well in selecting Julian St. Jox in a NonSex cameo as father of the bride, her true parentage left unaddressed.

Powers is a famed gonzo director and has made many fine videos, but this exercise on the lucrative porn-parody band wagon has nothing going for it.
