Anyone who has seen a Basement Reels production before can understand the amount of care and dedication they put into their work. This movie was no expectation. The mystery and suspense of this movie leaves one wanting more, and alongside the perfect amount of comedy, not undermining the entire movie, makes sure you do not forget that this is a Basement Reels production.

The characters were well developed and had their individual arcs, which, by the end, culminated in a ending that was extremally satisfying. Each character had a well developed personality and backstory, and yet the film did not seem cluttered what so ever.

Overall, the movie truly gets you invested in the story and gets you to care for the protagonists' plights. I hope to see more of their productions in the future and wholeheartedly recommend this movie to lovers of mysteries and comedies alike.

This film was made by Basement Reels (Krusan and Tharshan), a duo living in Canada who make skits on YouTube about family experiences as Canadian Thamils. They are really talented local asrtists and with thieir first film, you will not say its their first film at all. I really appreciate both Krusan and Tharshan and the rest of the team for making this film. This was a perfectly executed mystery film. The story is fictional but it's mainly based on the ongoing pandemic. Screenplay was well done, and it kept me engaged throughout the film. All actors in the film were phenomenal, each character was utilized very well and the actors gave justice to their roles. The comedy was really funny at some points, I enjoyed it. There's a reason why everyone should support local artists, they have really great and ideas, especially in filmmaking. The film shows how Krusan as a director has a great filmmaking mindset, which I appreciate a lot. I strongly recommend everyone to watch this movie!

Basement Reels has done an incredible job making The Misadventure of Unlikely Heroes, a quirky indie film set in a pandemic-like era. What I really loved was how relevant it felt to recent global events, while still introducing a thought-provoking and unique take that keeps you engaged until the very end. The way the movie was put together made it a perfect balance of relevance and intrigue. The characters are down-to-earth and realistic, and will have you laughing, teary-eyed, concerned, and rooting for them the whole way through. If you watch Basement Reels on YouTube, Tharshan and Krusan still very much bring their dynamic and flair but they turn it up a notch for this one and really manage to do something they never have before. An excellent first film by Basement Reels, I can't wait to see what they come up with next!

Basement Reels have always been amazing in their way of making viewers reflect on serious topics with a comedic flair through their skits, reels and videos. The Misadventures of Unlikely Heroes had that exact Basement Reels touch, focusing this time on the pandemic and the issues surrounding it, in terms of trust, political and medical stance, and herd mentality versus opposing views. Krusan and Tharshan and the rest of the cast acted wonderfully, making us laugh, think and at times, tear up! The movie was entertaining from start to finish, and I enjoyed it so much the first time, I had to go back to watch a second time! I highly recommend this movie! Basement Reels definitely set the bar high for their first movie, it's definitely going to get bigger and better here on in!

The movie was captivating from the beginning to the very end. The storyline was easy to follow and it kept you at the edge of your seat during every scene. Overall the movie was shot to well and the cinematography was on point (loved the lighting choices and the camera angles for certain scenes). The drones shots were my absolute favourite! Acting from all the actors/actresses were phenomenal. Everyone played their characters very well. I personally loved the character Vijay and I thought Tharshan Raj did an amazing job with his acting skills! Great work Basement Reels team, and can't wait to watch more movies in the near future.

Just got around to watching this film and it was a treat! The characters were fleshed out, the cinematography was fantastic, and the story was captivating! It kept me on the edge of my seat the whole time. The various issues they tackled, from their main plot, to the subplots of this film, were all very interesting and grounded, with some being very emotional. The film really made me feel like Vijay and Chris could be any one of us being thrown into such a weird and sinister situation. The acting was also really well done by the entire crew, everyone sold their performances. Looking forward to more Basement Reels films!

Taking a leap of faith in venturing out to a new genre for their debut film, both Tharshan and Krusan captivate their audience once again with their wonderfully done and executed storytelling.

The relatable storyline leaves the viewers engaged from the beginning of the film until the end and further draws us in with the natural, effortless yet realistically enticing acting abilities of the leads and many of the supporting cast which further compels the viewer to feel an array of emotions throughout the film.

The attention to detail in cinematography paired with the beautiful aerial views enhance the viewing experience of the audience. The usage of many resources sprinkled with fitting scores appropriate for the scene at hand aids in the authenticity of the film.

With many strengths well-executed in their debut film, here's hoping this is the last misadventure of these heroes.

Their debut movie was very different from the usual content they make. This proves that they can pull any genre, not only comedy. This was a thrilling movie and I liked the mystery. It's a great story line that relates to recent events in our world. The time flew by even though the movie was an hour and half. It was very engaging. The ending for me was very emotional. Not going to say anything other then that, don't want to spoil it for anyone. Tharshan as an actor and writer captivated the audience through and throughout while Kru excelled in directing. Hats off to the entire team!!! Everyone should definitely watch this movie. Can't wait for their next project.

I've waited for this movie FOR EVER. I've been a fan of Basement Reels for a while and my expectations were high. Waiting for this long, I feared the storyline wouldn't be as good as I thought. Oh boy was I wrong. It was WELL worth the wait! The storyline was like of a Tamil movie. It was so interesting my eyes were glued to the screen the entire time. Truly didn't expect something like this happen. It was better then actualy Tamil movies I've seen. PLEASE MAKE MORE MOVIES. So many plot twists, it was the best movie I've seen in 2023. Well done Krusan and Tharshan! It had all the genres in one movie.

I am giving this movie a 9/10 because I have watched several movies from the Tamil, Korean, and Hollywood industries.

I have to say this movie was very good from start to finish. As someone who was part of the audience, I felt involved but also engaged from the first minute of the movie.

This movie has the humour side that adds the Basement Reels signature to it, which made me smile in some of the scenes. It also holds the suspense that really brings this movie together, so hats off to the team and the director for this fantastic screenplay and for also delivering an amazing mystery movie I was off my seat from start to finish for the amount of suspense and plot twist which made the movie very hard to predict unlike some high budget movies there are out.

I believe each actor has been utilised very well, and each character plays a significant role in this movie.

The negative side of being a 9/10 movie, which could sound a little too harsh, was that the movie felt rushed in the final 30 minutes.

It felt a little disappointing, as the transition felt too quick; however, it does not take away how good this movie is, and it's a movie that can be watched repetitively without getting bored of it.

Basement Reels killed it again with an awesome suspense/thriller movie with some humour as well. It had me at the edge of my seat with the storyline. It was a movie that brought out my emotional side also. The cast did an outstanding job with their acting. Basement Reels always had a unique concept story in their videos, so I had high expectations with the storyline when watching 'The Misadventure of Unlikely Heroes'. They yet again came up with an awesome concept to present as a movie and It was absolutely worth watching. I highly recommend watching this movie with your friends and family. Looking forward to seeing many more unique storylines by the director and script writers.
