MythBusters Cook with C4 and Test the Flying Guillotine
SuperMari0s4 September 2023
The MythBusters team is back with another explosive episode, this time testing two myths that involve deadly weapons. In the first myth, Jamie and Adam investigate whether it's safe to use the plastic explosive C4 as a cooking fuel, as long as you don't drop anything on it. They set up a campfire with C4 bricks and try to cook some steaks, eggs, and bacon over it. They also test what happens if they accidentally drop a metal spatula or a bullet on the burning C4. Will they enjoy a delicious meal or end up in a fiery blast?

In the second myth, Kari, Grant, and Tory attempt to re-create a mythical flying guillotine, a weapon that supposedly decapitated its victims from a distance. They build their own version of the device, based on historical descriptions and movie depictions, and test its accuracy and lethality on various targets, including a ballistics gel head. Will they prove that the flying guillotine was a real and effective weapon, or will they chop it up as a Hollywood fantasy?

This episode is a mix of fun and gore, as the MythBusters explore the science and history behind these two myths. The C4 myth is especially entertaining, as Jamie and Adam show their humorous side while cooking with explosives. The flying guillotine myth is more gruesome, as Kari, Grant, and Tory unleash their deadly contraption on some unsuspecting dummies. The episode also features some impressive slow-motion footage and high-speed camera shots that capture the action in stunning detail.

Overall, this episode is a solid 7/10 for me. It has some interesting facts, some spectacular explosions, and some cringe-worthy moments. It's not the most memorable or groundbreaking episode of the series, but it's still worth watching for any MythBusters fan.
