Set in the far future, namely the year 1980, this short Star Trek spoof does what it sets out to do almost perfectly. As the USS Isambard (NCC-1) is running out of coal while "hundreds of miles out in space", the Martian science officer suggests descending to a nearby planet to pick some up. On the planet the crew runs into some problems including the death of Ensign Expendable, a kidnapping and a puzzling sack of coal. The slapstick isn't as acrobatic as a modern audience (being used to only the best silent comedies) would expect, but the film compensates for this with its ingenious puns.
