A nice journey.

An interesting and nice documentary: every year about 450.000 tourists go canoeing on the Ardèche river: this river tourism began in the seventies (as Olivier Lacoste , the photographer, said because he has taken pictures of Patrik Blanchard and his family since 1977). The French National gendarmerie has a special team which navigates on the river tand helps the tourists who have fallen into the water or are injured. Besides Ugo Magnani is a river guide who shows to the tourists the lonely places in the Gorges of the Ardèche (only two bivouacs are allowed in this natural place each night).

I enjoyed the stories of two villages: Saint Montan and Beauchastel where the inhabitants organized in an association have restored the houses and reforested with olive-trees. Besides the Association Beaucharabia organizes every week a little concert.

There are other interesting activities for the young people: special excursions for children in the "Aven d'Orgnac", fishing training (the young Ariane Laporte enjoys now fishing) and the fishing coaches and the young fishermen and fisherwomen are taking care for the rivers .

Ardèche is also an interesting place for sport in the wilderrness : mountain bike trial (the rider attempts to pass through obstacle course without setting foot to ground) , rock climbing or tree climbing : besides acrobats of the Xentric Association make exhibits of "parcours" in the villages.

Ardèche is also a land of inventors: we see Roland de Mongolfier driving a hot air balloon, he is the grandson of the inventor of this transport and his family manages in Viladon a little museum about hot air balloons and printing. Marc Seguin is the inventor of the wire-cable suspension bridge (the first suspension bridge is built in Tournon-.sur-Rhône in 1825). Then Marc Seguin invented the multi-tubular steam engine boiler.

I enjoyed the encounters of Jérôme with Vinciane Teston (visit of Thueyts, via ferrata and zip line), with Annick Carle-Roux and her husbusband Michel Roux (the market of Aubenas, the talk about the castle, the stay at the "Mas de Saribou", the supper with local products, the walk in the mountain and the visit of the "Aven d'Orgnac), with David Faure (the bike path along the Rhône River, the supension bridge of Rochemaure, the largely in ruins castle of Grane , the green theater of Grane and the stay on the restored barge of David ) , with Samuel Maignan and Johan Rey in Rocles (the association of producers and their shop where people can buy cheeses, bread, fruits,. Vegetables and the local beer) and with Marta Dervin, the female potter who works with sandstone (the walk in the forest and the panoramic view from the "Col de Juvinas".

A very interesting documentary about the slow tourist (hiking, bike tour, canoeing) , about the renewal of the villages and about the cares for the nature: besides the people of Ardèche were very kind.
