Hard hitting, raw and honest.

The documentary is a truly masterful, unfiltered and honest gift from its creator Ghazaleh Golbakhsh. Told in an interview style; 'first-hand' experiences of moving from Iran to New Zealand are shared by the characters as the director travels back to her homeland - Iran. The stories acknowledge sacrifices families are forced to make during times of war, as well inviting the audience to view the cultural aspects and completes of these situations. The film has a warm intimacy, which made me feel very included and emotionally vested! Overall, it was really enjoyable and I felt like I would like to learn more about other peoples stories from 'war-torn' parts of the world - as these can provide a higher sense of connectivity compared to 'traditional' media. A courageous and brave film. Must see!
