Good but confusing
functionalts7628 January 2023
I normally watch NCIS Hawaii. It would have been nice to know it was a crossover before being confused with the first 5'. Also, the episode from DC to hawaii seems to be missing information that youtubetv didn't record or was not even shown. For example, everyone being kidnapped and, chris odonnell "going dark". From what I read also the gunman from the cabin was killed and found. I will say after watching the last episode, LA I am not a fan of that/ The cast seems over the top or uninspiring. DC cast is not bad. Ultimately Hawaii is my favorite. They should have a helpful recap about a previous episode and also for any character from other shows. I could not tell you who 99% of the referenced people were in DC or LA .

Good trilogy with one dumb part
jimmatch17 January 2023
Unlike the other reviewer, we enjoyed the trilogy. We don't normally watch NCIS LA, but had no problem doing so to complete the story. Whining about it is not necessary.

The one thing that bugged us was that the company name was (and pardon me for forgetting the actual name but I think it was Haven so I'm going to go with that here) Haven LTD, or Haven Limited. But instead of saying "limited" the actors would say "L T D". This happened a bunch of times. It's like the writers don't know the meaning of the abbreviation. Either that or it was some running gag behind the scenes. Whatever, it was annoying.

A good episode!

Warning: Spoilers
As said before, I have never been a huge fan of these crossovers "NCIS" has done since the 12th season. I feel it's quite forced to watch three different shows to follow one storyline. The actors are having fun with these crossovers, but at times I feel the audience should have as much fun watching them. "Deep Fake" though is a solid episode.

Let's start with the good.

. The production values of the episode are great. "Deep Fake" is well-directed, the music fits the scenery and the acting's good. Chris O´Donnell is pretty good, so is Vanessa Lachey and Jason Antoon. Tori Anderson and Noah Mills haven't grown on me yet.

. The mystery is intriguing for the most part. The jokes usually land and the action is exciting. The CIA being involved in a murder is a compelling plotline.

But...

. Do agree that the narrative gets a bit messy here and it's not always easy to keep track of the plot. The ending felt like the writers were streching the story out a bit.

Overall, a good one.

7/10 HK.

You need to watch NCIS and NCIS Los Angeles before and after NCIS Hawaii
fredi-7295316 January 2023
The most stupid idea ever merging few different series into one. Apparently to know exactly what has happened before this episode you need to watch "normal" NCIS, and what is even worst, after this episode of NCIS Hawaii you should watch NCIS Los Angeles for a continuation. So for those who watch only NCIS Hawaii is the worst part as they are in the middle and don't relly know what was before and after. Really stupid idea doing something like that. I understand they trying to push people to watch other series but people don't wanat to do that for a reason and doing eposides like that doesn't help at all.
