Greatest awful show I've ever seen
andrew-929099 February 2020
I found this series on amazon prime and it is one of the most hilariously bad things I've ever watched. It is a twist on the original lion king films but it features characters from other Disney films and is dragged out over 52 episodes. Bambi features as 'bimbo' and the series overall is hilariously bad. But if you like a series so bad that it's good, then give this show a try. Although it's made with kids in mind so bear that in mind.

Nostalgia

It was the best cartoon of my childhood. When I was a little child in Sivas, Turkiye, I used to watch it.

The kiddish show ever

I remember being 5yr old kid try to snatch time from my studies and other activities just to watch Just Kids on Sahara Manoranjan where I get to meet different characters who bring joy to my life. Whether its Simba, Cinderella, Zorro, Mowgli, Sandokan, or The Great Book of Nature. Each & every show were gem taught me meaningful lessons. I know people will argue about its originality but that's not the case. Even the Disney Lion king took some indirect inspiration from Japanese Kimba the Lion King. Its about the entertainment, the joy you feel watching that thing. I hope 1 day Sahara Network rerun these shows

How does this not have ANY reviews

This was an absolute "joy" to come across a few years back and to this day it's one of the oddest shows I'll ever see. Much like Legend of the Titanic, a film by the same studio, this series is insane. It really does feel like a kid playing with his various Disney animal toys and this is the result. The episodes I watched featured lions getting blessed with magical powers, talking mice and seeing through time, and most hilarious of all was when the two child leads are on a drug trip.

The following series' are equally insane from what I've seen. I can't believe these shows exist let alone are this crazy.

Normally this breed of bad-insane animation would be right up my alley. Everything from it's rip-off set up to it's awful characters and insane story sound like a recipe for fun.

It's not.

This series would be "so bad it's good" IF IT LEARNED TO GET TO THE POINT. Scenes go on far too long and usually with just mouth noises from the main characters. It's so badly paced that sitting through a whole episode becomes a chore even with all the bad stuff there to surprise you.

If it wasn't for the fact that it was so hilariously bad I wouldn't have even given three stars. It's just a big disney movie rip off with very bad story.

If you never watched it do

The movies decent is very confusing at some points but is an original twist to the Disney story or Kimba the white lion, overall is aimed at kids so one has to keep in mind that but if had to pair it to somethething it be the story of starwars while the Disney one tells you the story of hamlet this one is more like the story from starwars told with animals some things will be hard to swallow like the puddle that helps simba like Jiminy cricket to the kangaroo dinosaur thing that appears out of nowhere is still a good watch.

Why Copy a Movie?

With all due respect, this may be good, but it is not something I expected from the original formula of The Lion King.

It's the Circle of Theft!

Warning: Spoilers
Man, the nineties seemed to be FULL of animated stuff set in the jungle where the lion reigns as king. We have The Lion King (Disney), Leo The Lion: King of the Jungle (Jetlag/Goodtimes), The Jungle King (Golden Films), and this abomination, brought to us by Mondo TV. Oh, joy. The same studio that brought us that insulting movie about the Titanic. While Leo the Lion: King of the Jungle and The Jungle King were kinda cash-grabs, trying to capitalize on the success that Disney had with The Lion King, thy could be tolerable (especially the former), and can somewhat be viewed as their own thing, this is just full on plagiarism (yes, because clearly the reason why The Lion King was such a big hit was because it was set in the jungle, and a lion ruled as king, not because it had a well-written story with compelling themes and interesting characters)

What's the story? Well, the lion, the King of the Jungle, is killed, leaving his cubs, one of whom is named Simba, as orphans, (Gee, Disney didn't do that, right?), some of the other animals raise the orphaned cubs (Gee, Disney didn't do that, right?) until Simba is old enough to take his place as king (Gee, Disney didn't do that, right?) oh, and as for the villain, he's a big cat (in this case, Shere Khan the tiger from the jungle book) who wants to take over the throne and has a hyena lackey who serves as comedy relief (Gee, DISNEY DIDN'T DO THAT, RIGHT!?). I'd say this is just an average lion king knock-off, but, it's just FLAT-OUT PLAGIARISM, especially given some stuff that happens later on, like Simba fighting his uncle. (OH, COME ON, MAN!!!!

Who are the other characters besides Simba and Shere Khan? Well, mostly other Jungle Book characters: Baloo, Bagheera, Kaa, and the wolf pack. Okay, that I can kinda let slide, because the jungle book is under public domain. Oh, and one of Simba's childhood friends is a baby deer named Buckshot, whose parents were killed by the same hunter who killed Simba's dad. Great. First they're ripping off lion king, now Bambi!? Does this show have NO ORIGINALITY!? I don't mind seeing stuff that's been done before, but, do something new with it! Which, here, they don't.

The animation is awful. While the backgrounds are painted nicely, the character designs look mediocre at best and downright creepy at worst. As for the setting, I can't tell if this is supposed to be set in Africa or India (where Jungle Book took place). On the one hand, we have lions, elephants, cheetahs, zebras, and a giraffe (all African), but we also have brown bears, wolves, and tigers (all Indian). Pick a setting and stick to it.

What about the character personalities? There are none. This Simba is boring, and has none of the qualities that made Disney's Simba so great. The other good guys are just there. Shere Khan is basically just Scar, except turned into a tiger. And sometimes, the dialogue can get downright tedious. I mean, what show would have such intelligent lines like "let's look at the sun!"

And as if the plagiarism and uninteresting characters weren't bad enough, they felt the need to give the characters superpowers. Simba can shoot lasers from his paws... okay.... And apparently, Shere Khan lead the hunter who killed Simba's dad through telepathy.... What!? Okay, what we're these writers on?

All in all, it's a horrible show that was clearly made just to cash in on the success of The Lion King, while completely forgetting what made The Lion King such a great film. I suggest you just stay away fro, this show and watch The Lion King. That's worth every minute of your time. Not this.
