Good For Laughs!
judyking686 December 2018
Warning: Spoilers
Is it cheesy? Yes! Is the plot ridiculous? Yes! acting terrible? Yes! Did it make me laugh? Oh, definitely! It's a really dumb movie, but that food fight at the party...oh, my! If you're holiday stressed, laughter is a stress-releiver, so watch this just to laugh. And the silly, sentimental ending just might tug at your heartstrings a bit. :)

Nice & Sweet
Christmas-Reviewer31 October 2016
BEWARE OF FALSE REVIEWS & REVIEWERS. SOME REVIEWERS HAVE ONLY ONE REVIEW TO THEIR NAME. NOW WHEN ITS A POSITIVE REVIEW THAT TELLS ME THEY WERE INVOLVED WITH THE FILM. IF ITS A NEGATIVE REVIEW THEN THEY MIGHT HAVE A GRUDGE AGAINST THE FILM . NOW I HAVE REVIEWED OVER 200 HOLIDAY FILMS. I HAVE NO AGENDA. I AM HONEST!

This movie follows the Fletcher family, specifically perfume executive Maya (Caroline Rhea) and her equally busy husband Jack (Barclay Hope). Both of them are busy dealing with the stress of their demanding jobs as well as with the effect that a recent move for Maya's career has had on their children. In order to impress both her boss and a potential new client, Maya agrees to host a Christmas party at her new home. This puts extra stress on her especially since both her and Jack's relatives have made plans to spend the holidays at their new house.

Jack suggests that Maya hire Owen (David Hasselhoff), a prestigious Christmas consultant, to plan the party in her stead. Despite some initial hesitations, the Fletchers hire Owen, who states that he will work every day except for Christmas Day, which he will spend with his family.

The film has nice joyful quality about it. It is a typical "Holiday Christmas Movie" but it has enough genuine laughs that helps make this film stand out. Worth watching. Family Safe

Hasselhoff bells
BandSAboutMovies27 December 2019
Warning: Spoilers
"No excuses. I double dog dare you."

These two sentences laid down the Christmas movie challenge from R. D Francis. I don't want to take the Lord's name in vain on the day of His birth, but I came really close.

A holiday movie. With Hasselhoff.

Pure cruelty.

Originally airing on the Lifetime Channel on November 10, 2012, this movie follows the holiday misadventures of the Fletcher family. Perfume executive Maya (Caroline Rhea, TV's original Sabrina the Teenage Witch) and her husband Jack somehow get put into the Christmas stress of having family and clients over for the big day. Luckily they hire Owen (Hasselhoff), a planner who specializes in Christmas parties.

If you've watched one of these holiday movies - dude, I've watched way more than a few - you know that Owen has a sad secret and that's he's going to fix everything for this family.

Director John Bradshaw pretty much specializes in holiday movies now, while writers Brian Sawyer and Gregg Rossen have similar IMDB credits.

If you can look at the poster for this film and not want to slice your wrists with a sharpened candy cane, then you might just make it through the challenge. I, as well, double dog dare you. I must say - it has the worst green screen effects I've seen probably ever. Becca walked in, and as she always does, yelled "WHAT ARE YOU WATCHING?" This time it wasn't a naked Italian girl being strangled by Ivan Rassimov, but instead, a horrifying sleigh ride.

Ho, Ho Hasselhoff
wes-connors31 December 2013
Warning: Spoilers
A workaholic couple hires square-jawed David Hasselhoff (as Owen) to be their "Christmas Consultant". Mainly, this is because busy Caroline Rhea (as Maya) can't be an executive, housewife and mother while planning a successful Christmas. Looking neatly trimmed, Mr. Hasselhoff helps by decorating the house, taking Ms. Rhea for a romantic sleigh ride with silver-haired husband Barclay Hope (as Jack Fletcher) and taking their three kids out for some off-key Christmas caroling. The main event is planning a Christmas party to impress relatives and co-workers. The plan doesn't go smoothly when the airport has trouble landing planes due to Hasselhoff's excessive outdoor lighting of the Fletcher house. Then, there is an incident at the Christmas party. It looks like somebody lost her Christmas spirit, but you shouldn't give up hope. Everything is wrapped up so, so sweetly.

*** The Christmas Consultant (11/10/12) John Bradshaw ~ David Hasselhoff, Caroline Rhea, Barclay Hope, Jessica McLeod

Ho, Ho, Hopeless
thecorradikid11 November 2012
Tepid Christmas tale is abhorrently unfunny, terribly corny, and should have never been made. Whoever approved this script should be washing cars for a living instead of writing screenplays. There's the dysfunctional family, the unrealistic plot, and the desire to make Christmas BETTER by having everyone screw up, act stupid, and hate each other...until the end that is. At first, I thought this was a Hallmark movie, but even they wouldn't go this far with one of their movies. Look, taste is subjective. I'm sure some people will like this movie. That's fine. THEY can watch it... I'll stick to the classics. Hey, I don't even like A Christmas Story, with "Ralphie" and his BB Gun, but understand how people could like THAT; it does have some cute elements, but this...this is Ho, Ho, Horrible!

Ughhhh!
BeeBenji12 November 2012
I'm sorry David Hasselhoff cannot sing & he can NOT act! This is possibly one of the worst movies I've ever seen. To be fair Hasselhoff was not the only one bad acting. The script was bad & the acting was bad & totally the wrong actors playing the parts. Epic fail! For any Christmas movie I watch I have high expectations but this movie didn't make me want Christmas at all. If I remember right (it's been a long time since I watched it)Hasselhoff was a pretty good actor back in the Knight Rider days. he now needs to retire. Caroline Rhea I usually like but she bombed badly here. Come on Lifetime, you can do much better than this.

Not horrible
jeanmkulski11 December 2019
It was cute, the usual bring a family together at Christmas. Instead of an angel or an elf it's a consultant/planner and Hasselhoff did surprisingly well. Caroline Rhea who is a great actress couldn't pull off the harried mom though, I felt like she was forced to take the roll and showed zero personality. I'll watch again

Cheesy
OddlesOfNoodles19 November 2020
MmmIs David Hasselhoff a robot?!? It was a little much but it kind of make sense by the end of the movie. I love Caroline Rhea because I watched a lot of Sabrina the Teenage Witch (little biased). The movie was overall very cheesy but works for a background movie.

This is not a good Christmas present...
rixiane30 December 2016
One of the worst Christmas movies ever (and I've seen my fair share...)! The acting is truly horrendous and the singing... Oy vey! I really do appreciate a good Christmas flick and even ones that are really not all that good too. Just because it's that time of year :) The story idea in itself isn't even that bad but the execution of this movie is unfortunately cringeworthy... Not for one moment do I believe the two main characters in their acting. The 'meltdown' was a complete laughing stock (although, it was too stupid to even laugh...). All in all, they really should've kept this one to themselves... If this movie was a Christmas present, I wouldn't be a happy bunny.

Sue me I liked it
LifeLongBachelor23 June 2017
I liked this movie very much. Was it an award winning movie? No of course not. It was a very sweet nice movie designed to make you smile and just feel good for a couple of hours. Well mission accomplished. It was a very different kind of movie for David Hasselhoff and I think he pulled it off quite nicely. All in all a very decent film. I highly recommend it.

What a Waste

Not sure which is worse, this lame movie or "A Christmas Story." Have only watch each of them once, but won't ever watch them again.

A new Christmas Classic
tejonm12 November 2012
I really enjoyed this, yes, it does have ups and downs--sometimes it seems that all is not going well but that is part of the fun! It reminds me a bit of "The Ref"---could some of the same people be involved {behind the scenes}? It concerns a modern, up to date family, who feel that they would like to get more out of their Christmas celebration with a little less work, but they are very short of free time.

I hope to get a copy of it so I an play it whenever I want to! I think it is a lot of fun but be sure to watch it all the way to the end,I think you who commented that you found it "depressing" quit too soon.

I am eager to see it again, and am recommending it to all my friends.

Please give it a try!

Good fun.
rebekahrox4 November 2019
Thanks to David Hassellhoff and Caroline Rhea, this was actually a very funny movie. It's nice to see we can have a Hallmark/Lifetime movie that is not a romance. Good family dynamic and career conflict exploration. The only thing marring it was Caroline's demanding boss, and a melt-down near the end which was really hateful and crazy. Once amends were made and sanity restored, it ended on a heart-tugging note that one could see coming a mile away. Good comic acting, good humor in the script. I recommend it.

This became a christmas tradition for me
dxever200625 December 2020
While it's not the greatest movie made, i really loved this movie. The acting is pretty good for a made for tv christmas movie, especially hasselhoff who goes really all out in his performance. I bought that on dvd a few years ago and it became my go to movie for christmas day every year mostly because of how charming this movie is.
