This is where men cry
moritzherz8 February 2023
Warning: Spoilers
I am writing this review with tears in my eyes. After an episode that gave me everything I ever loved in my life. It pulled me right back into the good old days of my early childhood, watching the best show ever made. This episode gave me the most nostalgia I've experienced since The Clone Wars' finale. It's a masterpiece, without a doubt. This review is a tribute to its greatness.

After watching "The Clone Conspiracy" I already was overwhelmed and had to write my first review. I spoke of some points that were absolutely outstanding. All of these points can be find in this episode as well.

The story of the clone revolution is exactly what the show needed. It reminds me of the greatest story arcs in The Clone Wars, full of epic moments that you will never forget in your live. I am certain these two episodes will join the legacy.

The sheer amount of famous characters showing up in these episodes is just overwhelming. Bail Organa, Senator Chu, Mas Amedda, Captain Rex and of course EMPEROR PALPATINE. The moment he arised in the senate was pure epic. I had a feeling that he would show up to clean things up, but I never expected such an powerful appearance.

Senator Chu, Captain Rex and The Bad Batch tried to bring justice to the Clones and they were so close. But of course the greatest villain of all time, the mastermind knew everything and was, like Rex said: "one step ahead of us". When Senator Chu proofed that Admiral Rampart destroyed Kamino on purpose he just "twisted it to his advantage" and now his empire made a huge step into the direction he wants it to go. I say it again, this scene was the most powerful I got in 2023.

This would be enough to give this episode a 10/10 but there is even more.

The MUSIC.

During the first episode I recognized something on the soundtrack, little melodies of a title well known. When the second episode continued with that and even gave me some more I knew that they brought it back. Kevin Kiner's "The Clones" one of the most recognizable melodies of the original show made its comeback.

And then the last scene of the episode came. Echo leaving the squad to help Rex fighting for the clones should not be that emotional. But seeing how Omega reacts, crying and saying farewell to Echo with "The Clones" now at its full lenght playing in the background was too much to handle. I was still shocked by the events happening before and combined with the emotional scene and the pure nostalgia of the music I started crying. Memories of the Clone Wars came into my head, I could see scenes from the show before my eyes.

It were tears of joy and sadness at the same time. Dave Filoni and Kevin Kiner, thank you for not just making this day the best of the week but also giving me the best hour of the year so far. May the force be with you!

Lightning Strikes Again
tristan_198 February 2023
Warning: Spoilers
This episode depicts the turning point in the utilisation of Clones going forward. Sidious was two steps forward all along and our protagonists fell into the trap. There's a big show at the Senate and the series takes a whole new turn. Imagine seeing that in live action !

The episode plays like another mission of the week, but it is much more than that. And it is a crucial storyline. The data has to be retrieved in order to expose Rampart. Tech has a funny line about landing a couple meters off, but the deed is a success. Omega comes in, and Chuchi and Bail play the file.

But Sidious comes in and spins it. The Clones were so blindfully following orders (which he made happen), playing a crucial role in the destruction of Kamino, and therefore can not be trusted. It is now the time for a new Order. The Order of Stormtroopers !

Echo surprisingly leaves the group at the end, but it makes so much sense. He comes back joining his boy Rex, making a decision mirroring Season 7 of The Clone Wars. But this time, it's the opposite decision. The emotional impact it had was insane. It made me feel everything yet again, and the little talk with Omega was absolutely brilliant.

The table is set for a whole new Galaxy and a new direction for The Bad Batch !

I can not believe it!

What an amazing episode! I was in awe! I was fælled with shock and admirration! This was some of the best Star Wars has to offer! Reminded me of both Clone wars and Andor! This was politics done RIGHT!

Much like the previous episode it was an intense race against time! I had no idea what was going to happen at times and that is a sign of good writing! Once again a bridge is formed between the prequels and the original trilogy! This was a key moment within the Star Wars cannon! The scene in the senate is something I could watch over and over! Masterfull!

This season is showing its full potential!

I don't really know what else to say except... FANTASTIC
poseyfan9 February 2023
Warning: Spoilers
Ian McDiarmid... Holy blue milk! (I know that was kinda cringe) Chills man! That senate sequence was fantastic. The Bad Batch and Chuchi outed Rampart, but then the cold and calculated Palpatine uses it for his advantage; almost like he had it planned. Which - knowing Palps - he probably did.

This is by far the best episode of the season, probably of the whole show as well. Everything made me feel like I was watching an episode of the later Clone Wars. And that is definitely a compliment.

The ending was well done as well. Echo is starting to unpeel some character development so that's a good sign! Omega gives him a heartfelt goodbye.

Filoni just keeps filling in the gaps
sirdavos9 February 2023
Won't get into spoilers, but this 2-part arc answers some of the biggest questions in the franchise that have been left open for years. Filoni continues to use these animated series to fill in gaps left by Lucas and others in sensible and engaging ways. He doesn't do it by bringing in random, unfamiliar characters either, he uses what's already been established and just keeps building. After a few filler episodes, I'm fully back to being bought into this show and can't wait to see what other questions will be answered as the season goes on. I just wish some of the other SW shows (and films) with triple the runtime had as compelling storytelling as this does. There's nothing like Star Wars when there's competent writing behind it.

I think this must be the best episode ever than any other episodes in the Bad Batch!

Warning: Spoilers
It was literally so good! Captain Rex is back and the sinister pure evil villain Emperor Palpatine return! Yes, he's back! I love him coming back in the Senate Chamber delivered his best acting performance speech for the change of plans and consequences which it was so iconic. To prepare the new Order of the Galactic Empire! Omega sends the telegram to the Senate Chamber to deliver the evidence about the planet Kamino destroyed by Admiral Rampart. I love the ending when Echo comes to say goodbye to the Bad Batch and Omega. The way Omega hugged Echo which it was so heartwarming! Aww, it was so cute! I love their relationship! This episode is so enjoyable, I loved it! Omega, get down before the Emperor sees you!

As good as clone wars!
mandolorian-2907412 February 2023
Although the last few episodes have been rather filling and disappointing, this one and the one beforehand has given me newfound hope for the series. When bad batch was first released, me and many hoped that it would focus on the republics transition to a galactic empire. Some of the episodes have been fascinating and have showed that as well as some fun side quests with the bad batch, but unfortunately a large amount of the episodes have been filled with no importance. This episode on the other hand, reminded me of clone wars with the nail biting action and incredibly thought out politics, that often remind me of the real work while at the same time keeping the magic of Star Wars. Fantastic episode with and amazing plot and fun cameos. It has fulfilled my hope for bad batch as a series. Let's hope it keeps up the consistency of the last 2 episodes.

Back-to-back killer episodes!
starwarsman10710 February 2023
Warning: Spoilers
These episodes remind me of the Phantom Menace but this is even more devious. Senator Chuchi and Admiral Rampart were both pawns. Rampart in creating and pushing for the stormtrooper program and Chuchi in exposing his role in destroying Topoca City on Kamino. The way he gets thrown under the bus I get a Lee Harvey Oswald feel. The efforts of Clone Force 99, Omega, and Senator Chuchi were for not. Sidious always plays everyone like a fiddle to get what he wants. The Jedi Order, the clone wars, the Galactic Senate, the clones themselves. In the end the biggest victims in this whole affair are the clones themselves. Their entire purpose was eliminating the Jedi Order, transforming the Republic into the Galactic Empire, and they get thrown aside like bantha fodder.

part 2 of a story that is a must see for any star wars fan
ha77y73ad978 February 2023
Warning: Spoilers
There are many comments surrounding star wars that that the politics of the galaxy shouldn't be apart of the wider story but there are story arcs like this that make these moments so integral to Star Wars and what was to come inn the years of the Galactic Empire.

With Rex calling back the team to Coruscant can only mean that these stories are going to become more intertwined. Rex is one of the shining examples of Clones that were created for an animated series that we would love to see turn up in live action and imagine Morrison playing all 5 members of the Bad Batch at some point!

With being able to provide the evidence against the Admiral we are treated to one of the best speeches that I have heard in a Star Wars story with the Emperor finally showing his face in the Senate this was harrowing to listen to and to be able to manipulate the Senate into the passing the Stormtrooper act!

Finally to the ending of the episode Echos story is one that grows and grows to the point that he is returning to his old CO in helping the clones! How can the writers of this series drop such a bomb on the audience and just leave us with the feeling that we need more from the original 501st brother in arms!

Amazing episode with some minor flaws
Universal_Reviews8 February 2023
Warning: Spoilers
This episode depicts what the Filoni team can do when they put their minds together. This episode was amazing. It's not as good as episode 3 (for obvious reasons) but the two episodes really went hand in hand.

This episode really captured the aftermath of the clone wars while also keeping that "clone wars feeling". Something I still find irritating is that the Bad Batch are never threatened. The clones are known for their accuracy but how come they just happen to shoot like stormtroopers when facing the Bad Batch? It's unrealistic and I feel they should do better at that, especially in an episode that is literally revolving around clones.

Nevertheless, it was great seeing some actual bad batch plans take place and the real work they can do as a team. The ending brought a great mid season conclusion with Echo taking his leave from the squad. It's been well known he has been unhappy in recent days. I can't wait to see what they do for the rest of the season and how Echo's arc will now move going forward.

Great episode! 9/10.

Nice details for star wars story
walkeradam-823369 February 2023
Nice to see background of how republic became empire gradually, how the system evolved another, around clone troopers.

Nice answers overalls how rookie storm troopers took place of clone troopers. We can see dilemma here, Palpatine actually weakening empire intently. But also he can control senate by just showing up. Like dictators in our present days.

But I want to point out a bad detail for Bad batch because it finally solved.

Since echo joined the team actually he was useless and there wasn't really reason tlecho joined the team. He was like a tool by his arm like an hacker but we were seen that Tech was as already doing same job. So echo wasn't necessary, he can not fight or do some labor. He wasn't have real dialogs recently.

Interestingly Same thing for Hunter. I cannot hear real dialogs for Hunter recently. He seems like extra because he don't decide anymore, decision mostly comes for m Omega or by situation.

I think Dave filoni must solve this issue too...

Richard Nixon Vibes
brickinainteasy8 February 2023
Warning: Spoilers
If you have seen "All the President's Men" then you probably remember the classic line, "Follow the Money". I personally don't like the political infighting that is going on as we see once again, insignificant senators playing government. I am glad Rex kept the Bad Batch away from the senate. The only redeeming factor to this episode was Omega's goodbye to Echo. I enjoy the kid show aspect of this and don't need a reminder of "Watergate". If Rampart had said, "I'm not a crook!" then I would of apologized to Rian Johnson for what I said about "Last Jedi".

Thankfully Disney released two episodes that tied the story together but I throughly enjoyed 7 and felt this one fell short.

Good, but built on shaky foundation
sevskirita14 February 2023
Warning: Spoilers
Nice to finally get a non-filler Bad Batch episode that actually contains the Bad Batch, huh?

This story is, generally, very good. It makes great use of the Bad Batch and from returning Clone Wars characters such as Senator Burtoni. The clone rights issue, Omega learning more about the unfairness of her world (and her allies that are trying to right it) is very well done, and the plot is fairly sound.

However, there are issues. The poor episodes prior overshadowed the frankly extremely small relationship building between Exho and the rest of the team and Omega, and there are other not-so-good executions within this like Rex saying he was "learning from the Bad Batch and doing some improvisation", even though under Anakin's leadership, the 501st legion than Captain Rex led was notoriously improvisational. This would not have been a hard thing to correct, perhaps having Rex add on that he thought he knew improvisation until he met the Bad Batch, but it's clear to me that Filoni no longer has his attention to detail that was present (or maybe simply unneeded) for The Clone Wars show.

Still, great episode even if it wasn't build on a great structure and had some internal issues. Omega's emotions were pretty palpable for this episode.

Only Filoni can make my Star Wars heartstrings tug like that!
zaheerali-361311 March 2023
Great episode. That's what I love about Clone Wars, Rebels and all of the other side shows. It's fills in so many gaps that rewatching all 6 (sequel trilogy doesn't count) of the original movies makes them seem so much better. I can see Vaders anguish in Attack of the Clones and ROTS. Also, does anyone else see any correlation between Star Wars and what's going on in the world right now? Almost like The Seperatists are the Russians, The Republic is The US and The Jedi are the UN Council/NATO. Just duped by a bunch of crazy, power hungry politicians. George Lucas predicted the future with this s***!!

Finally two very good episodes in a row
Badger12109 February 2023
Warning: Spoilers
In a season where mediocre episodes seem to have things happen but not tied together we finally get two Ina row that have drama and consequences.

I do enjoy these looks at the early days of the empire and how Palapatine, although not in every episode is crafting his new empire. We get to see him a little bit st the end of this one showing up for everyone to see he is the one moving pieces on both sides of the chessboard, for now.

That said two drawbacks to this and the last episode. It is called Bad Batch, this is their story and they were left out of the last episode, why? This is a red flag that shows this season can still be directionless. The second issue is Omega, she is useless even as a plot device. Take her out of the mix and things will actually go better for the team, she contributes nothing good. The worst part of her character, she speaks for the team and makes promises even when they are not present. This child is not a skilled warrior or leader and should very subservient to the team.

Masterpiece
soleserm7 March 2023
Warning: Spoilers
The same applies for S02EP07: a Masterpiece, both in terms of storyline and overall feeling.

Throughout the Clone Wars, all Clone Troopers were mostly dealt as "expendable human war machines". They rushed into the battle head-on; they were killed, wounded, incinerated, followed lesser leaders (albeit they were Jedi), won significant battles at a greater cost, lost brothers, old breeds from GEN-1, up to rookies with insufficient training. They were bred for battle, but they gradually discovered they were human beings, different to each other, despite their being clones. As Yoda, Ki-Adi, Obi-Whan, even Palpatine agreed, "they had fought valiantly, throughout this war, saving many lives, including ours".

After executing Order 66, Clones were cast aside, used only as a kind of reserve force to the newly ushered Storm Troopers. The Clone Conspiracy is the cornerstone to a long and difficult road for the Clones to reckon with their pre-programmed obedience and their new, inhumane duties: these otherwise liberators, now serve as an occupation army, even destroying their own home planet of Camino, which was bravely defended by them during the Wars. In episode 3 season 2, Cody realises a bitter truth; he was the one who gave the order to execute his Jedi General Obi-Whan Kenobi. The battle memorial which he lays his eyes upon, is just a reminder of what the Clone Troopers had sacrificed for peace and democracy. Look at them now.

And these very brave Clone Troopers, now awaken by their conscience, way passed their nominal age of 30's due to accelerated aging, are facing the dilemma: will they continue to serve as cast-asides and blind instruments to a bloody empire, or will they choose to fight for their rights? Some of them have already realised the truth.

In this epic episode, after senator Chuchi had claimed herself as a representative of the Clone Troopers, we finally witness another bitter truth: Palpatine is one step ahead, just like he did during the Clone Wars. It's a very emotional scene: despite their efforts and struggles, the Clones must admit their struggle to be recognised as the true liberators and equal citizens of the Galaxy has all but failed.

Since the beginning of the Clone Wars Saga, I'd been a fan of the Clones and their deeper meaning: human clones of a template are trained and used for combat, "programmed" to obey orders, a "programming" which would also include orders to eliminate their field commanders. It's significance couldn't be more intriguing to me.

Their bravery and individuality, despite their "sharing the same face", had been noticed widely and became easy to relate to many of them.

"Truth and Consequences" is an epic episode, along with its sister episode "The Clone Conspiracy". I think we can all relate to their situation, one way or another. It's one of the elite few episodes of the "Clone Wars" wider saga, with such an impact. Well done to the production team!

A great Part 2
atkinsonlouise-7387319 March 2023
Warning: Spoilers
So the second part of the Clone bill arc was almost as good as the first and ended proceedings nicely. This one was more focused on the Batch and their mission to get the evidence against Vice Admiral Rampart, which was a thrilling and exciting heist scenario. The themes of the last episode continued well into this one and made for some great Clone Wars like content. Dave Filoni continues to show he is the person to run Star Wars going forward. But the last bit at the end was sensational. Seeing Palpatine, you could feel his presence and the weight of it. He truly stands tall in this scene and Ian McDiarmid continues to kill it. The last scene with Echo leaving made sense and has been built up to well I feel. Overall another one of the season's best. Hopefully get more of this quality in the future. Score: 8.5/10.

Really impressive!
yigit1612 March 2024
Warning: Spoilers
Dave Filoni and his team really knows how to showcase key characters. The scene when Emperor Palpatine appeared was brilliant. The pure terror and genius of the Emperor were very evident.

Goosebumps are inevitable!

In addition, the fate of the Clones is presented in a very compassionate way in this episode. All the politics and background about replacing the Clones with the Stormtroopers does fill some gaps. Good to know that an old acquaintance like Senator Bail Organa also plays a role here.

Easy to say one of the best episodes so far.

Very good work - Please keep it up!

Star Wars at its best!!

"So this is The Bad Batch?"
Trey_Trebuchet29 February 2024
Warning: Spoilers
"This is what the Bad Batch is supposed to be."

"This is not bad..."

It's actually really good. It took half a season to get there, but the title characters are finally connected once again to the overarching plot about a Clone revolution and the conniving tendencies of the Empire. I don't know why we needed so much filler up to this point other than to probably entertain the youngest of viewers watching Star Wars.

A lot of this episode felt like the darker Clone Wars arcs, and some of it even reminded me of Andor/Rogue One. It didn't feel like I was watching something for every age. It didn't feel like light Star Wars entertainment. It also had some interesting politics, something else television Star Wars does better than the movies.

Omega is sort of sidelined from the action and it actually makes sense in this context. I hope the writers do something really interesting with her after this, because this is the most I've felt for her in a good while. I was not expecting Echo to part ways with the Bad Batch at the end. It was a very touching moment, and a scary one, considering we don't know what happens to him between now and Rebels (a show he was absent from, from what I remember).

Once again, the animation, cinematography, music and directing are super well done. More episodes like this please. For once, I'm actually looking forward to more.

And I would not mind if we got more Senator Chuchi!
