The later seasons really ruined the show for me and I just stopped watching. But...I've been rewatching older episodes. I forgot how fun modern family used to be...especially when Luke was still young. I don't think I would have originally rated this an 8, but in hindsight...man. These earlier seasons were SOOOO much better. It took me suffering through the later seasons to truly appreciate how good the earlier seasons were. Just like most shows. Friends, Big Bang, Its always sunny, the Office.

This was a fun, easy to watch episode. Dodgeball story line was weak, but so what. Fred Willard gave a solid grandpa performance as usual. And Cam was over the top fun. And yes...I agree with the other review. Gloria has always been annoying. No reason she should ever have been paid so well. Worst part of the show.

Oh...and these episodes are before the annoying kid they got to play older Joe.

The best subplots of the episode where Claire/Cameron with the lesbian and Phil talking to his dad over the computer. The episode was a nice return for the and it made me notice that the weakest part of the episodes are any story involving Gloria because all she does is scream or use her accent excuse and now with the young baby problems it is just not interesting and not even the wise cracking words from Jay can make those parts better. Claire and Cameron where funny together as they fought for the lesbian's attention who however with most parts of Modern Family it could have been funnier. Ty Burrell and Fred Willard have such great chemistry even on a computer screen and their short scenes together were nice and the best part of the episode. Mitchell playing handball with the young child was OK but nothing that special.
