I recently saw this (acquired from someone affiliated with the production) and although I have seen 2 of the director's films - this seems unreleased and among his lost work for a reason.
Only released overseas, this bizarre mishmash of gags, sexual exploits, objectifying women (including nudity), street brawls, and working at an ice cream place is downright ridiculous.
This seems like the director ran out of ideas (after the first one, Visions of Violence) and just started throwing whatever would stick. Even though the first one had an odd charm, this one is just degrading to all involved. Women are only mentioned and shown for the guys pleasure and their dialogue reflects this. I know that this had a troubled production and was technically made in 2007 but I'll tell you that this film could never be made today. Blatant misogyny and incessant profanity wouldn't fit in with today's PC world.
This seems at times like a relic of a bygone era and for that I'll give it kudos. But for everything else, wow, it's just a mess.
The grandeur of vision of the earlier film has turned beyond pretentious. The feeling for character has vanished and Mr. Golon's approach to his subject is so predictable that watching the film is like a forced tour of one's own home.
Mr. Golon has written his own screenplay, whose awfulness has been considerably inflated by the director's wholly unwarranted respect for it. You thought the guy who spoke about the riot in 'Visions of Violence' went on too long? Wait till you see the section about April 2000 in this one.
Nothing in the movie works properly. Mr. Golon's gritty, photography looked better in 'Visions of Violence.' The performers have no material to work with other than utter profanity and talk about their sexual exploits. In addition they're frequently upstaged by the editing, which is sometimes among the most bizarre I've ever seen.
